Under the skylight

"Mommy how'd you fall in love with Daddy?" My 12 year old daughter ask me. I sighed and said "I've told you this story so many time little one." She said "Just once more please? I promise it's the last time I ask." I nodded and sat down and said "it all began when I was 18. Your father was 19 at the time. We where both sitting in the chairs under the large skylight waiting for the tour guide. He started small talk with me and after 15 minutes of me ignoring him the lady showed up." ~flashback~ "Hey" I heard beside me for the billionth time in a row . I continued looking down and drowning out the guy next to me. The Tour guide showed up in a khaki skirt and sunshine yellow shirt with white shoes. She smiled and said you two must be " Veronica Blacc and TJ Maxwell. Welcome to IvanBerry University." She showed us around and finally led us to our dorms. I had chosen a co-ed room when we arrived she handed me a key and also the TJ guy a key, I said "wait why does he get a key to my room?" She looked at me strangely and said "he's your roommate why do you think you both where partnered to tour together?" I nodded and walked in not wanting to question the overly optimistic tour guide further. I started unpacking my stuff and Tj did the same.There wasn't any further talk until morning. (Flashback over) "The next morning I woke up to your father singing Hannah Montana. I stood from afar laughing at the boy making pancakes singing nobody's perfect." My daughter laughed and I smiled at her. Gosh her laugh sounded exactly like TJs."anyways he soon realized I was behind him laughing he smiled in embarrassment and handed me the plate of pancakes." (Flashback) "Here you go I tried to make you some food but they slightly burnt" I smiled and said "here how bout I show you how to make pancakes the right way?" He nodded and I showed him how to make the perfect pancake. We spent the first day of move in day learning more about each other. I learned he was here to study the human emotions to become a therapist, his favorite color was blue, and as soon as he's out of college he wants to start work while I was here to be a lawyer, my favorite color was green, and I want to start immediately as well. (Flashback over) I looked over at the clock and saw it was way past my daughters bedtime. "Alright Bella I'll finish the story tomorrow okay?" She nodded while sleepily rubbing her eyes. I kissed her forehead and shut off the lights whispering goodnight. I crawled into bed and said "goodnight TJ" and drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
