Chapter 13

Jacob and I had been mindlinking, organising our special day with our mates.  Peter had offered to take over my duties so that I could be completely free to be with Cassie.  An alpha never has a day off, there are always issues and even if they are small I need to attend to them.  But meeting your mate, that is special, I needed uninterrupted time with Cassie.  

Jacob had made an amazing breakfast, we were in the kitchen finishing up our preparations when I was hit with the most amazing smell.  Josh and Cassie walked in together, Josh had his arm around her, my first instinct was to growl which shocked both of them.  Jacob punched me in the arm which made me snap out of things. 

“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have done that.”  Cassie just smiled and walked over to me, she snuggled into me, wrapping her arms around my waist.  I leaned in and smelt her, allowing her to calm my wolf.  

“It’s ok, I know you didn't mean it.”  Her voice was like an angel.  I looked up to see Jacob and Josh fully making out, Cassie noticed too and gasped and looked away.  

I picked up a roll and threw it at their heads, Jacob growled at me while Josh burst out laughing.

“I am sorry,” Josh was laughing as he said it.  

“Ew, Josh, don’t do that in front of me again, I don’t want the picture of my brother making out with his mate in my head.” We all burst out laughing, even Jacob.  

“Ok, ok, I will try and stop,” Josh was smiling as he answered, “But Cassie have you seen how gorgeous he is?” Josh was staring into Jacob’s eyes, Josh was big for a human, but Jacob having Alpha blood in him made him even taller.  Jacob had the biggest smile on his face, he pulled Josh towards him, pecking him on the cheek.  I was so happy to see Jacob with someone so loving, and my mates brother as well.

“Ew again, really Josh?

Cassie was so adorable, I pulled her back towards me, not wanting to lose contact.  

“Who made all this food?” Cassie asked looking over the spread that was enough to feed 10 grown men.  

Jacob began to blush, “It was me, we didn’t know what you both liked so I made a few different choices.  

“You did this, wow, you are amazing” Josh piped in.  Josh was about to go in for another kiss when Cassie picked up a roll and threw it at him.  

“No, no, no, I am your little sister, we have to have some boundaries, a peck, a hug, affection, but NO Make out sessions in front of me.” Josh picked up the roll and bit into it, “delicious,” everyone started laughing.  

After breakfast we lead Josh and Cassie to an open jeep.  Jacob jumped in the back with Josh while Cassie climbed in next to me.  I placed my hand over her leg and was surprised when I felt her hand on mine.  She looked at me and smiled.  “Where are we going?” she asked gently.  

“We thought we would show you our territory, let you see some wild animals and then …...a surprise.” 

“A surprise?” you could see the little smile forming on her face, oh how I wish I could kiss those lips.  Seeing Jacob and Josh so intimate already was making me a bit jealous, but I knew Cassie was different, I knew we had to go at her pace or I would lose her.  

We drove around for the next couple of hours.  Cassie listened intently to everything I was telling her, I explained how we got the land, about our business we ran and how the game reserves worked.  She was so attentive, asking questions, wanting to know everything about me.  I felt that Thane was proud, he was almost puffing his chest.  I couldn’t wait to show her our surprise.  We had been building a new entertainment area that could be rented out for events.  It was intimate, only holding about 50 people, we hadn’t opened it to the public yet.  Jacob and I had arranged for the bonfire in the centre to be lit, the days were chilly in the afternoon as winter was approaching, although we didn’t feel the cold, we knew our mates would.  A dining room table was going to be set with candles, and a romantic meal had been arranged as well under Jacob’s strict instructions.  We had also arranged warm blankets to keep them snug as the venue had an open top.  The walls were high enough to keep wild animals out, but you could still see the stars.  We had had a very late breakfast, so thought an early dinner would be good.  By the time we pulled up and parked inside the sun was slowly beginning to set.  

“That was amazing, Thank you,” I took Cassie's hand as she climbed out the car.  “I loved learning all those things about you and the pack.”  her smile was genuine and I knew she meant it.  

“Well I hope you like my next surprise even more.” I couldn’t help smiling as I looked down at her.  

As we walked in there were candles lit, on each side of the path leading up to the table at the end.  There were cushioned chairs on each side of the table, making it relaxed and cosy.  A bonfire had been lit in the middle adding extra warmth to the evening.  Cassie just stopped and looked around.  “It’s beautiful, what is this place?” I explained it to her as I guided her to our seats.  Josh and Jacob sat opposite us.  The table was low so the chairs were like sofas on each side.  I pulled Cassie into my arms as we sat down, she didn’t seem to mind at all, in fact she snuggled into me even further.  

“I hope you are hungry!” I whispered into her ear, my lips grazing her ear as I spoke, I could feel her heart rate increasing.  My wolf and I were happy, we knew she was really attracted to us, I could smell her getting turned on.  

“Ssstarving..” she managed to get out.  

I couldn’t help but smile, I liked that I affected her as much as she affected me.  I was pulled from my thoughts by a waiter coming to offer us drinks.  I ordered a bottle of wine, and we all made small talk while we waited.  The food was delicious, and the wine seemed to calm Cassie and help her relax.  We chatted for hours, about everything and nothing, it was one of the best nights of my life.  I really liked Josh too, he was clever, funny and seemed to love Cassie so much.  I needed to speak to Jacob about their brother, we needed to help them.  

We went to our car after dinner and began the drive back, “aren’t you scared we will get attacked by wild animals?” You could hear that Cassie was nervous.  

“None of the animals are more wild than us,” I responded, my wolf wanting to push through, showing her he was the most powerful animal here.  

She giggled “Of course, how silly of me, it must be the wine.!”

When we arrived back, Josh and Jacob disappeared, I walked Cassie to her room.  I knew I needed to ask her.  

“I don’t want to sleep without you!” It just came out.  “Let me rephrase that, I can’t sleep without you.” I tried to say it as gently as I could.  

She stepped towards me, putting her hands behind my neck, pulling me towards her, I was so tall I had to bend right down.  Our lips connected, it was like lightning, the sparks were flying everywhere.  I forced my tongue into her mouth, trying to devour her.  She tasted amazing, the feel of her was indescribable.  I had never been intimate with a woman, and I was so happy I had waited for her.  Her hands ran through my hair, pulling and tugging, my hormones were running wild.  Eventually we ran out of breath and had to stop.  I opened my eyes and was met with her bright green eyes staring at me.  Her lips were red and swollen from the kissing.  I ran my finger over them, they were soft, beautiful.  

“We don’t have to sleep apart, I don’t want to be without you either.”  her voice was soft, almost melodious.  She ran her fingers over my lips, I leaned down and kissed her gently.  I wanted her to know I wouldn’t push her.  

“Will you sleep in my room?” She nodded,

“Let me just get my pajamas and will meet you there in a bit.  

She went into her room and I went into mine, Thane was whimpering at the loss of contact.  I jumped into a shower to try and cool myself down, I was way too turned on and my hormones were driving me crazy.  The fact that I could smell her was even more of a turn on for me.  I jumped out the shower and grabbed a pair of boxers, I would normally sleep naked but I think that would just freak her out at this point.  I lay down on the bed and waited for her to come.  Thane was restless, he wanted to bang on her door and find out why she was taking so long.  

A few minutes later, which actually felt like hours, I was rewarded with the gentleness of knocks.  The door slowly opened bringing with it a vision of beauty.  Freshly showered and smelling of strawberries, my mate walked slowly towards me, redness filling her cheeks.  She was in old boxer shorts and a tank top, no bra, I could clearly see the shape of her breasts.  I had to resist all urges as I walked over to her.  

“I am sorry,” she said quietly, “I don’t have any fancy pajamas.”  Her head was facing down.  

“You look amazing,” Thane pushed through as I spoke.  His voice made her look up.  

“Thane?” She questioned.

I nodded my head, desperately trying to take back control.  I took her hand and lead her to the bed.  “I don’t care what you wear, you are stunning…..but” She looked up at me as I said the word but, “I would like to take you shopping, you are my mate, I want to do everything for you.” I was hoping that she could hear the sincerity in my voice.  I didn’t want to change her, I just wanted to make her feel special.   

“I will get more money at the end of the month, I can wait..” she whispered. 

“I know, but I also know that most of your money goes to Jonathan.  Keeping him in the home is taking almost everything you have.  I admire you so much, you are selfless.  Please let me do something small for you, you have no idea how much happiness it will bring me.”

I could feel Thane nodding at the same time, she was ours, we had every right to spoil her, look after her.  I placed my finger under her chin, turning her head to face me, her green eyes beginning to water.  

“No one, besides Josh, has ever taken care of me.”  She could barely finish her sentence, if it was not for my werewolf hearing I probably would not have caught it.  “I am not sure how to take anything, I don’t want you looking down on me.” her voice was cracking which broke my heart.  I gently pulled her into my arms.  

“You are an amazingly strong woman, no one could ever look down on you, I just want to do what a good mate does.  You already have started looking after my emotional needs, let me help you a little bit too.”  I looked at her with pleading eyes.  

“I have helped you already?” she looked at me confused.  I nodded my head.

“Before you came along I was so lonely, my emotions were hidden away.  Besides my brothers and Chris no one saw the softer side of me.  I thought I was cruel, destined to be alone forever.  Since meeting you, I am feeling emotions I never thought I could.  You calm me, make me happy, center me.  Without you I am so much weaker.”  I kept eye contact while I was talking, I wanted her to know that every word was true.  She slowly moved towards me, cupping my face in her hands, she leaned in placing her lips on mine, every movement, every sensation blowing my mind.  Her passion she was placing was showing me that she felt the same way.  Her hands went to my hair, tugging and pulling sending my hormones into a frenzy.  It took all my strength not to throw her on the bed and have my way with her right there, claim her as mine.  Instead I began kissing her down her neck, she moaned as I reached the most sensitive spot on her neck, right where I would mark her.  Instead I spent some time forming the best hickey I could.  I might not be able to mark her, but everyone needs to know she is mine.  

I slowly pulled away, a smirk growing on my face. “Why are you smiling?” She was sweet.  

“Just wear your hair up tomorrow.”

“What do you mean?”  She looked confused so I guided her to the mirror in the bedroom, she let out a shriek. 

“Andre, I have to teach Chris tomorrow, what is he going to think?”  She tried to slap me but I could see her lips starting to twitch.  

“Just tell him it's a bruise….but every other man will know you are mine!” I wrapped my arms around her, kissing her sensitive spot again.  She started to moan again, I gently picked her up and carried her to the bed,.....our bed.  I placed her down, climbing on top of her.  

“Aaandre……”

“I am not going to do anything, I just want to kiss you and be close.”

She smiled, her eyes sparkling at the same time.  I leaned in for one more kiss, before pulling her into my arms, wanting to fall asleep to the sound of her breathing.  

“I’ll go shopping with you.” her gentle, melodious voice was the last thing I heard before dozing off to sleep.
