Well here goes nothing. So I took my phone tapped on his number and started typing. “,Hello, my Name is Jade and I got your number from your sister, Mia. I know you might not remember me. We met at Pat’s wedding about 10 years ago and I’m texting you today because it’s a dare from my friend. We were playing a game of truth and dare and she dared me to to text you. “ Too many words for a first introduction. Over sharing was in my DNA but I had to, otherwise if he was one of those people who ghost people on the first 'hey', he would have ignored my message or even blocked my number. I had to make sure, I peaked his interest just by my first text. And I hit send. I sat there nervously waiting for the three dots to disappear and it took forever.at this point my anxiety was on its highest peak and I didn’t know what to do about my fingers so I ended up biting them while she must well simultaneously shaking my legs anxiously and finally he texted back. Looks like my introductory message hit just the right spot it was intended. Peak his interest so much that he had no choice but to reply. “Hey Jade. It’s nice to hear from you. As much as I would like to know what prompted this dare, I can’t remember you from the wedding but I must have left quite an impression” He was cocky. A girl was here trying but he had to make me look desperate. If he thought I was going to profess my undying love for him, then he had another thing coming. They didn’t call me savage for nothing, I replied. “ An impression? Not any that I can think of.” And that must have struck a chord in his ego because next I saw was him typing furiously then deleting. After what felt like an eternity, he replied back, “ ouch! such a cute face but with a mean streak, smiling emoji “ So he had looked at my profile picture. To ease the intense atmosphere and incoming teasing that was lurking, I replied, “ So, how have you been?” “ nothing much, just work here and there” “you travel a lot?” “Yes, I do. Right now I am in Ridgeway. I live here. What about you ? “ I live in London view. “ “ I think we should play a game of 20 questions. Just to know you better, to know who I am talking to.You know what I mean. The only rule is , for every question you ask, you must answer before the other person does. Deal?” “ yes. Deal. You start.” The next one hour was spent going back and forth with the questions. He was 30 years old, single, his favourite colour was black and grey, he prefers tea to coffee, he prefers cars to motorcycles with his dream car being a ferrari, his favourite sport is soccer and supports Manchester United. Mine was easy, I am 26 years old, favourite colour is blue, l love my daily dose of coffee, I love cars and my dream car is an Aston Martin. My favourite sports are soccer and volleyball and I support Manchester City. I had tried not to answer the question about my marital status and he was not having it. He threatened to find my apartment and camp outside it until I told him my marital status. Such extreme measures for a tiny question. He was a bully, I could tell. I eventually told him I was single and I believe he was relieved or ecstatic to know so. Because I was rewarded with, a heart emoji and a ‘ good girl’ You should have seen how I was smiling at my phone, Your girl was whipped.
