THE NIGHT THALIA AND EUGENE MET
Thalia's Point of View
''I'll wait for you in the ball, Miss?''
''Lady Thalia Colleymore. Daughter of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.''
''I see. Sister of the Great Pianist of the Square. I'm off to see who's the shining stone this season. Be careful out here, Lady Thalia.'' He walked away.
I felt my chest beating loudly.
''Who the f**k is that man? I have never heard of him. Eugene The Poet.''
There's something about Eugene that I find unforgettable.
Maybe it's his handsome face?
''Eugene, The Poet. Where did he even come from?'' I asked myself.
I felt my cheeks burn as I thought again the moment he wrapped his arms around me. I thought he was going for a kiss.
''The Queen Mother will now decide the Diamond of the season.'' I heard from the inside said.
Adelaide might be the diamond of the season.
''Mama will be proud more to her. And even prouder when the King lands an eye on her.'' I said to myself sarcastically.
''And you, Lady Thalia Colleymore, will be a stone in their path, so they'll send you far from home.
Well, if accidentally the King lands his 'other' eye on me. Papa and Mama will have to think things through. Although the probability is one in a million. Too good to be true.''
I carried my notebook as I went to the entrance to the ball.
''This dress is heavy, what the f**k?'' I asked myself. ''Clearly, no choices of an outfit for a woman here. Well, Viscountess Agatha could wear what she wanted. She's very boastful and egoistic, though if you've known her, she's a great Viscountess.''
I opened the door when I heard the applaud inside.
They are congratulating Adelaide, my elder sister.
''Her probability of being the diamond is higher than ninety percent.'' I complimented her by myself.
I clap to myself. I really don't have much love in my parent's heart.
I ran through the woods. Tears were falling on my cheeks.
Why did they adopt Hope from the late baron? Why did they conceive of me?
All they needed was Adelaide.
Or maybe they thought they would fail so they conceived of me, and as soon as they saw my 'uniqueness' they adopted Hope.
My mind's a mess.
I do not care where I'll end up.
''ughh...ugh...visc...viscountess...''
My pace was halted when I heard moans, so naturally I took a peek.
''Silence, lady. Hahaha. Does this cat wet for me, lady?'' A woman with a very sexy voice asked the woman with her.
Viscountess Agatha?! and Lady Violet, daughter of an Earl?!
Viscountess Agatha is well-known for her love of sodomy, and I have no hate of it but Lady Violet?
She is well respected! This scandalous behavior may have brought doom to the lady.
The Viscountess will not lose anything, as she is a Viscountess, but the lady. Ohhh, out of earldom.
I stepped back so they wouldn't hear my breathing. Agatha is also known for her sharp ears.
''Who's there?'' She quickly said with a simple leaf movement. A single leaf that moved because of this heavy dress.
''It's me, Viscountess!'' I am honest, so I said my name. I showed my face. Lady Violet quickly fixed her appearance and said, ''Nice talk with you, Your Honorable.'' then left.
''Really? Viscountess Agatha? Lady Violet is honored. And here you are, screwing her insides.'' I simply said.
''That woman is a whore...'' The viscountess said that shook me.
''Oh, is she?''
''Yeah. Ten minutes ago, she's was giving a head to Sir Burton.'' she smirked.
''The soldier?'' I asked with curiosity.
''Yep. And just a minute ago, she's with me. Funny. The Honorable Lady Violet has been stained by my sodomic hands.''
''The word 'sodomic' doesn't even exist.'' I said as I disagree. I sat at the grass to make myself comfortable.
''Oh, it will. Believe me.'' she said and plucked an apple from the tree near us before sitting down beside me.
''I always believe in you, Viscountess.'' I simply said, bowed my head as I try not to remember what had happened this evening.
''Hey, why are you crying, Thalia?'' she asked. Viscountess Agatha may seem stubborn but she has a good heart. A very 'sincere' one.
''Is it about your parents over complimenting Adelaide?'' she asked which I simply responded with a nod.
''Don't mind them, Thalia.'' she hugged me.
I felt her sincerity in it that I broke into tears.
''I was doing every thing like they want me to. I just don't want to pursue the violin. Is that hard to accept?'' I said.
''Being studious is a blessing. A very rare gift given by god to women. You are really gifted you know that. You have mastered the violin at the age of 4, while Adelaide mastered the piano at the age of 8.''
''Yeah, I did. I was the topic of the square at that times. But now that I did not pursue it, I am nothing.''
''WHAT? No, dear. You aren't nothing. Your the priciest woman here. Bet you are much worth it to buy if I can. You're really smart. You have a qualifications of a Queen if I am asked.''
''You do not have to pull my legs with those sugar coated words, Viscountess. But Thank you.''
''I am not, Lady Thalia. In fact, I like you more than your sister.'' She said.
''Really?''
''Yeah. The square may adore your pianist sister, but I hate her. Not to the point that I'll wring her neck though. It's just that she is so high-chinned. You get what I am saying?'' she asked.
''Yeah. I call it over-confident.'' I laughed at my words.
''My, my. Now that's the Thalia I know. Do not bow your head from the stupidity of the Duke and the Duchess. But wasn't like this since last year?'' she asked.
''Well, since I was born until last year they thought I'll pursue the violin. It all started when I received a letter at Harvard medical school. Mama was furious about it while Papa was beyond shook that they ignored me for days.'' I said as I reminisce last year.
''Well, you are stronger than before, Thalia. Just make sure you graduate and become a well known physician.'' she said and stood up.
''You bet I will.'' I took her offered arm.
