As breakfast finished, I went inside my room.
I didn't know my elder sister Thalia have a built up anger towards Mama and Papa, although I am not their real child.
Thalia have accepted me years ago but to Adelaide, I couldn't go near her.
Although, she treats me very nicely in public, she acts like I am a dirty creature when I'm at home.
''Hope?'' I heard Thalia knock.
''Yes, Thalia?''
''I'll be going with mama to the ball this evening, would you like to come with us?''
''Did mom allow you?'' I asked.
''Yeah. I am blackmailing her.'' She said.
I let her in my room, she sat at the window couch.
''I like your view here of the square. Quite peaceful.'' she complimented.
''Thanks for complimenting my non-breathing window.'' I said to her which made her smirk.
''Did mom really allowed you to go with them?'' I asked.
''Yeah. Kind of. As long as I don't interfere with Adelaide's chance to get married, I am allowed.''
''I have always wondered since the beginning of the season, why did mama let the two of you enter the marriage market 'together' when she obviously wanted Adelaide to marry more than you.'' I asked again.
''I don't know the answer to that. But it's fine. I am not marrying this season nor in the future as well until I graduate. Better grow fast, young lady.'' she said and walked outside my room.
I haven't given her an answer yet.
I picked up my sketchbook and my pencil and sat in my window seat. I smiled as I sketched the beautiful scenery right outside my window. It was going dark by the time I finished my sketch. The sun was setting. Thalia must be preparing for the night.
After a couple of moments, a carriage stopped just below my window. By the color of the carriage, which was green, it must be the Viscountess Agatha.
I wonder what she's doing here.
As I saw her stepped out of her carriage, I ran towards the stairs, skipped a couple of steps, and rushed through the front gate where I saw Thalia and Agatha walking.
I walked slowly towards them, the viscountess landed her eyes on me.
''Oh, isn't it the Lady Hope. My day has brighten now that I've seen your charm, milady.'' she said and grabbed my hand.
''Stop treating me like a child, Viscountess. Why are you in the dukedom of Cambridge, Lady Victory?'' I asked and pulled my hands.
''Ah, fierce. Just visiting my friend, Thalia here. She caused quite a ruckus last night.
''I heard from the maids hours ago. Are you here to pick her up?'' I asked.
''Yes, Hope. Although, I had prayed that you're coming with us. It'll be a splendid night.''
''Agatha. She's a minor. There will be drinking at the ball.'' Thalia interfered.
''Oh. I forgot. I thought you are an eligible stock for the marriage market. I would have proposed to you.''
''Sweet. Though the square does not accept single s*x marriage. Better luck next life to you, Viscountess. I pray to the gods above that you'll be reincarnated when the time had accepted same s*x union.'' I smirked.
''Did Thalia tutored you?'' she asked. Thalia laughed. ''Yes, I did.'' The Viscountess smiled then said,
''I see the sassiness.'' The Viscountess said and winked at me.
"You do know that your charm won't work on me, dearest Viscountess?"
I asked her. Thalia laughed.
"I'llleave the two of you a I m to attend the ball this evening.I will see you there, Viscountess Agatha." Thalia left the two of us near the gate.
"Is your sister still mistreated by your parents?" Agatha asked as Thalia disappeared from our sight.
"You wouldn't believe what hapened at breakfast." I said to her wich seems to interest the Viscountess.
"Would you tell me what happened?"
"Who am I to decline chit chatting with the Viscountess?"
I smirked.
There was this weird feelings in my gut. Weird but I like it.
After sharing the story of what happenedat breakfast with Viscountess Agatha, Thalia helped me to get dressed for the ball.
Lord Theo shall be there and accompany me tonight.
Theo Riley is the youngest son of the Duke of Birmingham, we are very close to the point where both of our parents wants us for the perfect love match when our season comes.
"Will Theo be there, Thalia? Is that sure?"
I asked as Thalia put an emerald necklace to me.
"I assure you, he will. Isn't Lord Theo a perfect match for you?"
"That is absurd! I have no feelings for Theo or will I have in the future. I'd rather learn than marry."
" You shall not follow the path I took, Hope. It dissapointed both Mama and Papa. You always see how they treat me."
"I understand my situation as I am not a legitimate Colleymore. But you shall marry a man with great honor this season and beat Adelaide in the marriage market."
"Well, wouldn't be a dream to marr the king."
Thalia laughed.
"Nothing is impossible in the world of romance, Sister. It's your choices to differ the outcome. How about Duke Edward Peytone."
"Don't even say that name when I am in presence. That son of a dick."
"What's a d**k, Thalia?" I asked.
Dick? Strange new word for me.
"That's what I heard from the men of Harvard. I believe it's called the p***s. The man's stick."
"Gross."
"I've seen it's form in the books."
"Can you described it?"
I asked as I am curious on what it looks like.
Not that I am interested in seeing it in person.
"It has this sac, like two balls in a bag. A lengthy stick, which differs for every man. Though it gets longer everytime a man is excited. I theoried that when engaged in child making, it releases a white liquid towards a woman's egg. Isn't science marvelous explaining how this world creates monkeys?"
Thalia laughed.
"That is very vague. Now, I am curious on how it looks in person."
"Ladies who pain see it everytime they have a male model."
"Then I shal master arts."
"Yeah, you should. Then both Mama annd Papa will be happy. I shall be the only one who disappoints them."
I look to the mirror and saw Thalia's sadness even though she's laughing.
