After Coming Home

When I saw mother left though the cave I walked back to the closet where a man awaited I never seen one except in pictures in books when I opened the door he came flying out luckily I caught him I tied him to a chair with my hair pascal woke him up with his tongue he looked confused and noticed that it was hair surrounding him when I came into his line of sight I asked him “Who are you and how did you find me?” he looked at me with his mouth open acting like he saw something that caught his eye so I repeated what I said “Who are you and how did you find me?” He finally spoke and said “I know not who you are or how I came to find you,” I asked what he wanted from me he said “ I didn’t know somebody still lived here I climbed the tower trying to hide” he didn’t finish his sentence and then he started looking around asking about his satchel I told him I put it where he could never find it changing the topic o asked him about the floating lights in the painting I had just finished and he told me they are lanterns for the lost princess now I know what they are made me feel like I was getting closer to my dream “ I want to make you a deal” “ A deal? What deal?” “ You take me to see the lanterns tomorrow night and take me back home safely and I will return your satchel to you” he agreed he started climbing down I laughed knowing that’s how he got up here then he yelled “You coming blondie?” I ran and grabbed my frying pan hooked my hair in the hook dropped it down the tower and slid down as I got down I felt the softness of the grass on my feet the coldness of the river and warmth of the sun on my face then I realized what if mother found out it would kill her after she killed me I’m a terrible daughter betraying her trust but what she doesn’t know won’t kill her right?
