Returning her gaze to Genova, "Please follow me." Jasmine's voice was soft, but her dubious glint spoke otherwise.
Genova quickly got up and was hot on Jasmine's tail with no clue of the event that was to unfold. Silence reigned between both girls as they walked toward a destination she was unfamiliar with.
Then again, she was unfamiliar with the whole place. After all, today was her first day in this school.
She decided to speak up and clear things between them. "About earlier…," Genova began, "I didn't mean it that way. I am not into girls. I mean, I don't know-"
"Why are you making yourself so worked up? It is totally cool with me – I am used to getting this particular reaction from people. Trust me; it will pass in a few days," Jasmine stated flatly, tugging a strand lock behind her ears.
Genova's eyes narrowed. "Do you mean you get this reaction from everyone?" She drilled to make sure she heard that right.
"Pretty much so!" Jasmine's eyes flickered mischievously for a split second before she continued, "Everyone who sees me for the first time pretty much loses their minds. They either feel like I am some treasure they either desire to possess or worship. But the effect will pass in no time, don't worry," she replied calmly.
Genova kept silent momentarily, seemingly thinking Jasmine's every word through. Somehow, she couldn't help but feel there was more to this lassie than what meets the eye.
The girl was beyond beautiful—more than anyone she had ever laid her magnetic blue eyes on, no doubt about that. But judging from what she had just said… it sounded like some mystery that was yet to be discovered. Nevertheless, Genova's mind was too preoccupied with the urge to follow Jasmine and do everything to ensure the latter was satisfied with her.
It was as though her life depended on it!
The so-called 'effect' Jasmine spoke of, whatever that meant… was messing with her damn mind. She couldn't bring herself to think about anything else other than the mysterious girl.
The reaction was that strong!
The girls reached their destination a couple more minutes later.
"Class is scheduled to start in less than two minutes. Do let me know should you require any help with something. Anything at all. Just treat me as a friend you are familiar with," Jasmin said with a smile that would break down any intended walls, making Genova's heartbeat accelerate when she saw that simple yet mind-blowing smile.
'Oh lord... Is this attraction I am feeling right now? Am I falling for this goddess in the form of a young girl? Wouldn't this be one hell of a joke?' She cried internally.
Then again, according to Jasmine's words, the effect will pass soon. She hoped it would happen more quickly because she was about to lose her damn mind.
The last thing Genova ever imagined her first day to turn out was getting obsessed over a girl. She never visualized her life with a female partner.
She had read romance books suitable for girls her age due to her parent's strict rules, and she couldn't wait to find the man that would love her just like in those fairy-tale. This had been her secret wish since she began embracing the need that rose within her whenever she saw her parents getting lovey-dovey or any other joyful couple. She wanted to experience what being with and loved by a man felt like.
But now... Now, she felt like this girl before her right now was her life source.
"Genova?" Jasmine's voice crept into her ears, snapping her out of her daydream.
"Ah, yes? Did you say something?" Genova questioned while lowering her head to avoid eye contact with her crush.
Jasmine sucked in her inner chin as her face contorted like when someone was forcing back laughter.
Jasmine looked at the girl whose head was lowered for a good second before letting words out. "Let's go in! Class is about to begin."
"Y-yes!" Genova quickly composed herself and trotted inside the vast hall with Jasmine.
Gazes of everyone in the hall were immediately directed toward the door the second it cricked open.
Genova felt her skin burn at their scrutiny and instantly became nervous. Her step halted as she scanned through the entire room that looked like the conference hall of a very wealthy company.
A big screen hung on the wall next to the exit. Numerous desks with task chairs occupied by pupils filled the massive hall.
Closed Mac-Books and notes with pens were placed methodically on each desk.
The place was neat and again reeked of how wealthy the school was.
Genova stared at the smartly dressed students in a daze, feeling out of place. She was quickly snapped out of her stupefaction when she felt the loss of something… or rather someone's proximity.
Looking around to determine why her soul suddenly felt empty, she saw that Jasmine was already quite far from her. Hence, she quickened her pace to catch up with her.
Jasmine walked behind her desk and took her seat elegantly. Her lips were curled up ever so slightly as she watched Genova scurrying toward her direction. She knew beyond doubt that the girl would sit next to her.
And Genova did!
She crouched down in the space next to Jasmine. A quiet sigh left her throat, feeling like she could finally breathe for the very first time.
Contrarily to Genova's relief, the entire hall watched silently as the new girl seemed to have fallen into the demoness's trap. Genova was clueless about what she had gotten herself into!
Jasmine had a not-so-good reputation at the school.
People who knew her well enough… knew to be wary of her because she was one petty girl only a few could mess with. The girl was nice when she wanted to be. However, most of the time, she was worse than those villainesses seen in movies.
Everyone had mixed expressions on their faces while looking at the new girl. Some felt pity, some oblivious to whatever was going on while others were in for a good show.
They couldn't wait to see the end of this new entrapment. One thing was certain...this was going to be a good show!

A middle-aged man carrying a computer under his arm walked in seconds later. His tracks immediately faltered when something caught his attention.
The man's gaze snapped to the infamous school villainess, then to Genova who was barely an inch away from the same person she should be distant from.
'Another trouble!' The man shook his head and then let out a helpless sigh. "You must be Miss Bourn?!" He spoke while looking Genova in the eye.
Genova quickly sat up straight before answering, "Yes. I am Genova Bourn, sir!" She responded.
"Good to have you here, Miss Bourn! My name is Professor David Johnsons, and I am your mathematics instructor."
"It is my honor to be here, sir!" Genova stated with unhinged excitement and utmost gratitude to her aunt for making this place a reality.
David hummed. "Do you wish to change your current desk to a more comfortable one?"
