Chapter 7 It’s Complicated

Gaby P.O.V.

I am in the SUV driving back to my shop. I look out the window lost in my thoughts. I know that being a street fighter brought its own dangers, hence the secret identity, but dating a gang lord is a whole different kind of danger. I know that I just put my father and friends in danger. I was determined to protect them at all costs. For some reason I was ok with the fact that I was doing all of this for him. Was I falling that hard for him already to risk all that I have accomplished? He is a gang lord after all. The ultimate bad boy, but he also was this sweet gentleman that romanced me and cared for me. I was so confused. I had to talk to someone. I look toward Jacob and know that he may have some answers to provide me with more clarity.

“Jacob do mind if I ask you a few questions?” I begin to say.

“Yes Ma’am, At least I can try to answer any question you have.”

“Don’t call me ma’am, just call me Gaby, ok?” I tell him and see him nod. “Has Drake ever had any previous relationships I should know about?” I see him take a deep breath.

“Gaby, He should be the one to tell you these things.” I could tell he was uncomfortable with this topic, but I pushed.

“Jacob, I just want to know… we are both moving so fast… I just want to make sure that I am doing the right thing. I have been in danger before but not like this. I just need to know if its worth it.” I sigh.

“Gaby, I have known his since I was a child. He did have a way with many girls. He was never really serious with any of them. I think the longest he has been with a girl was a few months, but it was just a good f**k. You on the other hand… lets just say that I have never seem this side of him. He is smiling to himself more, he is happier that I have ever seen him. You have brought out the best in him. So I can assure you that he is into you and only you.” I sigh in relief. I guess this is all worth it.

We arrive at the shop and told he could park in from of the garage. I wait to be let out as Jacob scans the area, I do so as well. Can never be too cautious in these circumstances. He proceed into my shop where I see my friends diligently working. Its already almost closing time. I go to the front of the store and begin shutting and locking up everything then make my way to the back workshop to have a serious discussion with my friends. Jacob was hovering over me which was beginning to annoy me. We both enter the back and I asked my friends to gather around Because there was so much to talk about.

“Ok guys there is a s**t tin of things I need to tell you so I need you to just bare with me.” I begin. “First off I had my meeting with the Hyatt and good new! We are going to be the main floral display for their Bridal Show. I am also going to be a judge for their amateur floral designer challenge. I am going to shut off production both front store and events for the next four months. I want us to focus on the Hyatt Display that will be in a month, and I want all three of you to take the next three months off with pay. I will not take no for an answer.” I see their shocked faces before a scream of excitement comes out of their mouths in unison. “Ok calm down. So I will formally announce it on our website not to disappoint anyone, and I want you three to only work four hours a day for this project. We need to brain storm, the theme this year is: In the Clouds. I want you to take the next three days off to think of concepts, palettes and designs. We will meet back here at 10am to start planning.” They all nod.

“Well this is definitely a career maker! I cannot believe that we were selected to design it?” Trina said in surprise.

“Me neither, I thought I was being asked just to provide simple arrangements for the event not a full on themed display.” I say

“This is freakin amazing!” John yelped in glee.

“Ok well I am glade that you all like the news.” I say with a sigh of relief. I just really want to protect them.

“Soooo, since we don’t have work to do anymore… so spill? How was the date with Mr. Hot and Sexy?” John asks, I roll my eyes. “And who is that sexy beast guarding the entrance?” He whispers to me. Nina and Trina also very anxious to know.

“Ok that is Jacob, he is assigned to protect me now. And the date with Drake was amazing.” I had a huge grin on my face.

“O look she is smitten…” Nina coos at me. I just blush and look away.

“What happened tell us everything?” Trina said.

“So after the meeting I went straight to his place and we had lunch outside next to his beautiful flower garden. It was filled with roses, delphinium, hydrangea, lilac, and a few other ones that I couldn’t tell from the distance. We just talked about everything. And he gave me a grand tour of the house. Trina you thought what we say was amazing, there are other features to that house that made it look like and town lived there.” I giggle and continue. “He had a small issue happen to one of his venture and had to leave me for a moment, but I did manage to squeeze in a nap in on of the living room on the couch. When I woke up he was there and we cuddled. Then I left after he told me he assigned Jacob to watch over me because he wanted to make sure was safe wherever I go.” I shake my head and chuckle.

“You sure he is not treating you like a piece of property, This bodyguard seems a bit possessive?”  Trina says with a worried look.

“I really don’t think so, He is a powerful businessman and I am sure he has plenty of enemies that may want to hurt me as leverage. I don’t mind really. Just shows he cares.” If my grin couldn’t be any wider already.

“Wait so you stayed at his house? Don’t tell me you gave it away that easily?” Trina said with furrowed brows.

“No I didn’t, we just had a few heated make out sessions” I blush and start to heat up. I already miss his lips sucking mine. “But I am going to spend many nights at his place.” I sat shimming my shoulders.

“You get it girl! I have been waiting for you to lose that v-card of yours for a while!” John basically yells the last part and I shoosh him. Then I heard Jacob chuckle and I immediately become embarrassed. I really didn’t want the fact that I was still a virgin out in the open.

“Shut it john!” Then I whisper “I really didn’t want everyone to know” I say to him gesturing towards where Jacob is standing.

“Sorry baby girl! I just got a little excited for you. After all you are dating Mr. Hot and Sexy and if I was in your shoes, I would have shagged him already.” John said. I just roll my eyes.

“Ok since we are now officially done here, I have to pack and get somethings ready. I am going to spend the rest of the week with Drake. Enjoy your time off.” I say to them. We all get up and hug each other goodbye. Once they leave, I turn to Jacob and he is giggling to himself.

“Virgin huh? Never suspect that from you RED?” He chuckles and I give him a fast right hook to his jaw. He stumbles back a little to regain his balance. “s**t! Ok sorry…promise you secret is safe with me.” I smirked.

“Serves you right for eavesdropping.”

“Dam Gaby, I will never ever think about pissing you off again.” He shakes his head still shocked from the blow.

“Good, now let me go upstairs and pack my things, I’ll be done in a minute.” I say to him making my way upstairs to my room. I grab two large suitcases and start to fill them with cloths and toiletries. I grab all my electronics and their chargers, and finally my box of photos. I like to keep this little box with me because they remind me of a time when I had a normal like, a life with my mother. I grab a black bag and pack my favorite guns and knives, my important paperwork, and my workout cloths and sparing gloves. I finally finish and bring everything down to the garage. I open the garage and see Jacob ready to receive my stuff. He places my stuff in the trunk.

“I wonder is I should take my bike?” I ask aloud.

“We can have someone pick it up for you if its that important.” Jacob says.

“Nah its ok, if stupid Santos burns my place down, I know that my insurance will cover everything. I already have my most important stuff packed in the car.” I say and he nods.

“You ready?” He asks. I nod and make my way inside the back of the SUV. Jacob climbs into the driver seat and I glance back making sure that I closed the garage door. I swear if this Santos jerk messes with my shop, he will have to deal with me, not Drake. How has mu life gotten so complicated? I feel like my life turned upside down since I met Drake at the club. I just hope that I am doing the right thing. My head maybe going a mile a minute with the this turn of events, but my heart is pulling towards Drake. I am falling hard for him. I do not know whether to embrace it of me scared of it. I guess I just have to dive right in and see what happens.
