CH.8 First Attack

Chapter 8 First Attack

Gaby P.O.V.

Jacob and I were making our way back to Drake’s house. I was looking out the window until I felt like something was wrong. I look to Jacob and see him glancing at the rearview mirror a few too many times.

“Is someone following us?” I ask suspiciously.

“Yes, I need to call Boss.” He presses a button to talk into the Bluetooth system in the car. I hear the phone ringing through the speakers.

“Jacob what is wrong?” I hear Drake on the line.

“Boss we have company…” Before he said anything else I feel the our car being bumped into from behind. I turn to see that there are three black SUV’s tailing us and trying to crash into us.

“s**t! I am sending back up, just keep driving.” I hear Drake say. Then I hear gun shots. I duck. I need to get to my bag and retrieve my guns. I am not going to let whoever is doing this to get away with it. I take my seatbelt off and reach over for my bag. I bring to me. I open I and take out one gun and load it.

“Jacob keep driving, I got them.” I say to him, he looked through the rearview mirror again shock to see me with my gun at the ready.

“Ok, but don’t get hurt or boss will kill me.” He says flooring the gas peddle. I roll my window down  and begin to take aim. I shoot the tire of the first SUV making the tire blow out and sending the car rolling to the side. I roll that window up and move the other side and roll that window down. I aim and shoot twice at the front window Making it crack enough to distract the drive and he runs into a stoplight post.

“Dame Gaby, two down one more to go.” He says pleased that I am making his job easier. I roll the window up and make my way to the front seat.

“Do a U-turn now!” I command him as I roll the window down.

“Are you crazy!” He yells. I just smirk at him and put my seatbelt on.

“Trust me just do it!” He does it and I aim for the front tires and blow them up making them swerve out of control and into another car. Jacob makes another sharp u turn and we make our way again back to the mansion.

“Dam Girl, I knew you were a great fighter, but a marksman! What else are you hiding from us?” I smirk at him.

“Why don’t you ask Drake, he has a good idea of what I am capable of.” His eyes widen in shock.

We finally get back to the mansion. I see Drake already waiting in front for me. He could see the Bullet marks on the back door of the SUV. He goes to the front door and opens it for me grabbing me and holding me in a tight embrace.

“You ok Honey?” He asks with so much worry on his voice.

“I’m fine!” I say looking at him and giving him a reassuring smile.

“Boss, your girl is amazing! Why didn’t you tell us she can shoot? She took down all three cars singlehandedly.” Jacob was praising me.

“Aren’t you glade that I was packing, I just saved your ass.” I smirk at Jacob. And feel Drake staring at me with amusement.

“That’s my girl!” He says to me and kisses the top of my head.

“Drake you’re lucky that I know what I am doing or else you would have lost your third in command over there.” I gloat.

“Hey I did do all the driving for your information.” Jacob said with sarcasm.

“What happened to your jaw man? I thought the attack happened while driving?” Drake asked and I laugh in his arms. He raise am eyebrow in confusion.

“Um… well… Gaby.” He stuttered

I interrupt, “I punched him for making a stupid remark.” I said proudly. Drake started laugh hard.

“Servers you right messing with the undefeated Red!” Drake states. I suddenly feel the realization of what happen hit me like a ton of bricks. I sigh and turn and look up at Drake still in his arms,

“Drake… was this Santos doing?” I ask. He nods frowning.

“I believe so. Seems like he has been doing his research for a long time now.” He pauses, “But you are safe now and I want you to always be caring a gun on you. I know that I am allowing you to still work, but if another attack happens again you are staying here 24/7.” I reluctantly nod knowing that what he is doing is what’s best for all of us. We all get into the mansion, Jacob carrying my things as we make our way upstairs.

“Gaby, I know that this is all going so fast, but I would really like it if we shared my room. I want to keep you close. Unless that’s too uncomfortable for you?” Drake askes making our way down a hallway.

“I guess I am ok with it, as long as you don’t try anything.” I say giving him a stern look. He chuckle.

“I promise I will be a complete gentleman. I am willing to wait as long as you want. I am simply happy that I get to sleep next to the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” He winks at me and I turn and blush. We make it into his room, and it is huge. It is the size of my entire flat. There is a four-poster king size bed and a lounge area. There are two sets of double doors. One lead to a huge walk in closet, the other leads to the bathroom where there is a waterfall shower with a bench in it, a large jacuzzi tub and a long countertop along the wall with two sinks. I think I could spend an entire day enjoying this bathroom. I was in awe of everything. I turn and see ceiling to floor glass windows at the far end of the bedroom with double glass doors that lead to a large balcony that has some lounge chairs and a side table. It looked out to the beautiful floral gardens that I love.

“Do you like?” Drake askes coming behind me wrapping his arms around my waist. I lift my hand up to cress his face.

“I love it!” I say enjoying the view. “Drake I am exhausted, I think I am going to take a show and go to sleep, its been a really long day today.” I say and yawn.

“Ok beautiful, I leave you alone and come back to join you soon.” He kisses my check and leaves. I quickly unpack everything noticing that Drake already made room in his closet for my stuff. I take a show and do my nightly routine. After drying my hair and putting my pajamas on I crawl into bed and relax. After a while I feel the bed dip and a strong-arm wrap around my waist bringing me closer. I feel the warmth of Drake’s strong chest and I snuggle into him. This feels nice, I can definitely get use to this.  

“Goodnight Beautiful” I hear Drake say feeling him kiss the back of my neck.

“Goodnight Handsome” I say enjoying his embrace.
