Felicia walked into the college classroom a little nervous but confident that no one would recognize her. Her red hair was striking but framed her face perfectly. Her eyelashes were false but were done so professionally that they could easily be mistaken as her own. She had chosen to wear a black camisole with black jeggings, and boots with a pale gold shimmery jacket that contrasted the black beautifully. Her accessories were subtle but screamed designer. She looked like money and she knew it. Walking into the dimly lit auditorium-style classroom, she decided to sit in the front. As she walked, she noticed lustful looks and nods of approval from many of the men and even a few women. She also noticed looks of distaste and glares that can only be described as hate. She smirked. “Let them look. Let them hate. That’s exactly what I want.” When she reached the front of the class she noticed a familiar face. It was Scotty J. He was Greek and very much desired around campus. Once at a party, Felicia had been asked to go into a room with him thinking that he had wanted to get to know her better only to be embarrassed by the fact that he wanted her to agree to have s*x with him and several of his brothers. "Hey Scotty," she said with a sultry smirk as she whipped her Marc Jacobs bag around in front of her and sat next to him. “Hey….um do we know each other?" he said, his voice laced with surprise, but a smile crept to his face. When class was out Felicia noticed that Scotty had passed her a note. "Please hit me up. 715-5895" she smirked, put the number in her phone, and kept walking. As she reached the student union she heard a loud and familiar voice yell her name. Oh s**t. “Felicia!” a voice yelled. Blushing intensely, she turned around to face her best friend and roommate Skkye, whom she had been avoiding for the past few days. It had been a difficult task to avoid someone who lived in the same house as her, but she was successful in knowing when and where her friend would be most of the day because normally she would be the one accompanying her. “Where in the f**k have you been?” Skkye said, emphasizing the profanity. “I been worried about you and here you stand with this red hair and wait.. are those fake lashes? b***h, wtf?” “Skkye, you’re making a scene. Please can we just go outside and talk.” Felicia was looking around, noticing many of the students glancing their way. Many of the guys were lustfully looking at her and she knew if Skkye noticed it would be even more of an issue. “Please Skkye?” Grabbing her by the hand, Skkye pulled Felicia rather roughly to the nearest bathroom and locked the door. “Explain,” was all Skkye said as her green eyes stared intensely at Felicia. “Well, I-I-I…” “No, Felicia, what you’re not going to do is sit there and stammer and act all nervous and s**t with me. We’re best friends and you have been on that bullshit and I want you to act like you’re f*****g grown and tell me what the f**k have you had going on and what the f**k is this new look you have going on?” After a brief stare-down, Felicia spoke. “Okay, Skkye I just wanted a new look. I just knew you would flip out so I just avoided you okay? I don’t know I just felt like you wouldn’t understand.” “ Licia, you know how cool I am, but after that nigga broke your heart last year and we had that incident-,” Skkye let her voice fade out when she saw Felicia look down in embarrassment when she brought up that incident. “We said we wouldn’t talk about that anymore for a while,” Felicia said in almost a whisper. “Okay but don’t scare me like that anymore.” At the end of freshman year last year, Felicia had attempted suicide and Skkye was the one who had found her half dead. It was a traumatizing experience for both of them. “Why do you always blow up? Like for real? It’s the middle of the day and you got me locked in the bathroom and s**t. And I’m the one that you’re worried about? Worry about yourself and let me out of this damn bathroom hoe!” Felicia said as she realized how ridiculous this situation was. Looking in the mirror, she was in love with what she saw looking back at her. Candy. Now it was Skkye’s turn to blush. Skkye’s light skin was so creamy that the blush was really red and noticeable. “What are you blushing for? Ha!” Felicia said with a laugh as she noticed her friend’s embarrassment. “You should be ashamed though, making a big ass scene in the Student Union and leaving your flavor of the month standing out there like a fool. She’s gonna be mad as f**k at you when you go back out there. I'd be surprised if she’s still waiting.” “Shut up b***h !” Felicia said, feigning anger. Skkye was smiling now. Felicia was relieved. The smile meant that she was no longer worried.
