I woke up to voices in the hallway.
Not just one or two—many.
Fast footsteps. The sound of boxes being carried.
I sat up quickly, rubbing my eyes.
The silver dress I’d worn yesterday was folded neatly on a chair.
Beside it lay ribbons and a pair of soft shoes.
The door opened. Two omegas stepped in, bowing their heads fast.
“Good morning, Luna,” one said. “The Alpha says you’re to be ready soon.”
“Ready?” My voice came out scratchy.
“For the announcement,” she said. “In the main hall. Everyone will be there.”
My heart thudded.
