heavy is the head that wears the crown

those who look up don't know the weight of a role

your example sets their pace

you pray to be succeeded

a regent sitting back as an alumni with respect

for now, you're the best

when they want to know what's possible

you're the answer

make it happen

get up and live life hard

achieve those feats daily

they'll ask how

but they'll all find their way

they all follow your role

because it's what they know

you're the key to success

you hope they'll be more

carve your own path

i can show you the way

but the day will come

where there's answers i wont have for you

Bigots

fear is found in the shadows

mongers of it are found in the light

you fear government and religion

looking to dogma to fix your problems

god can't help you

the president can't help you

but you can

you ask authority to hand you purpose

but you rebel against any idea that's not yours

you spread loving words of leaders you believe in

and hate anyone that doesn't agree

hell hath no fury

like a bigot scorned

by the simple existence of adversity

a word tossed around to justify hatred

it becomes a symbol used by hateful people

"an unexamined life isn't worth living"

unquestioned authority is how Hitler rose to power

what does it mean to question?

to know and understand all perspectives

instead of snickering at it

and calling it bigotry

let me be

let me consume and enjoy

does my existence vex you?

I'm not changing who i am

you won't change who you are

if both you and i resolve

to be ourselves

who's wrong when you hate me

and i defend what i enjoy

you scream and say consumption is support

i don't need your "facts" because i don't care

that musician is talented

that actor/ actress was part of a good movie

that was a good and enlightening book
