Where We Don't Exist
time is lost in thought
i sit here in my peace
it's over in a blink
just to put my phone aside
just to put my life aside
sit and contemplate my identity
my existence
my heart
the chaos of life disappears
my vision becomes clear
i know who i am, I've always known
i was so stuck thinking out the minutes before me
that i didn't contemplate my eternity
simply existing is 2 steps back
how will i get home?
can i find that peace in life?
what if time didn't exist
and i could see their smiles forever
listen to my heart beat
listen to my synapses fire
all without a price to pay
the music illuminates the night
drinks in hand, laughter to be heard
for one night, nothing else exists
Metamorphosis
when the whole world
is on their high horse
calling you immoral
I'll be with you in the dirt
showing you the beauty of nature
let them lie to themselves
holding onto their vanity
you've shed those lies
molting into the freedom of choice
to accept or reject by your standard
and no one else's
you'll find your purpose in that truth
in the dichotomy of love and hate
"i love this" "i like that"
"i hate this" "i don't like that"
simple things to admit in ourselves
we choose not to like
for fear of titles
we choose not to dislike
for fear of scrutiny
as a butterfly you soar
above the caterpillars
choice is liberating
choice without shame
