Love/ what if/ speak for the silent/ sing

Love

love is care and compassion for someone

no matter who they are or what role they fill

love is wanting the best for someone

by their notion and not your concept of it

love is doing what's hard for you

love is success and failure

to encourage growth in ways they desire

love is to take their hopes and dreams

and stand beside them as they achieve

love is free of desire

and imposition on your loved one

love is work

through thick and thin you hold on the best you can

love is knowing

how fallible a relationship can be

love is hoping

they stay forever

hope is knowing the possibilities

but still working towards it

What If?

it hurts to gaze upon what i feel couldn't be

I'm uncertain but hope hurts

it always has

i move on and try to forget

but there you are in my mind

in my dreams

i try to shut it off

pretend you're not there

there will always be that question in my mind

what if?

i'd rather have you in my life

then to follow my heart and chase you away

i wonder if the day will ever come

that you'll love me

i can't sit here torn about you

so I'll just live

maybe one day our stars will align

question is...

will we take the chance

or play it safe
