The Path

i walk along this road

crossroads ahead but i stand still

I'm comfortable on this path

what was broken glass

now feels like grass

i reflect on my choices

no matter what i do,

there's a price

what is best?

no one knows, no one can

the path could lead me right

but speak to yourself

know your truth and set boundaries

share only with those you feel the need to

that's your right

the truth is yours

some choices in life

come to a crossroad

between integrity with others

and integrity with yourself

people around you will act as though they're honest

because they lie to themselves the most

as they lie to your face

but you unconsciously tell me everything

and you will never even know

i control you with every impulse

with every need

ill show you what's missing in your life

I'll even show you how to attain it

but I'll strip you of your confidence and drive

to attain it

I'm in your pocket

but you're also in mine

you still can't justify leaving me
