Chapter Eleven
Mistletoe’s Point of View
I decided to go and see if Mrs C needed any help with any thing and to Check on Mr Claus. I over heard dad talking to mum this morning about how he had a particularly bad night last night. They were both very worried about him… which worried me.
I kissed mum and dad good bye and headed out, Hugging my jacket closed, I made my way down the bank and to the house, but before I got there, i saw Nicky and froze on the spot, No pun intended.
I didn’t want to see him. Maybe I’ll go and see Mr and Mrs C later on. Turning on my heels, i headed towards the workshop instead…

Walking in, The heat instantly hit me in the face, and it felt so good. I was surprised to see that there was so many people in here. Rumour has it that a lot of production had been shut down, No one knows whats going to be happening in the future, Christmas wise. From what I hear Nicky still isn’t on board with the whole ‘’Taking over the Santa role’’, and from what dad said this morning, he didn’t have long to make his choice.
A choice that affects literally every one.
The WHOLE world!
It has got to be tough though, Not being able to live your life, Having your whole future mapped out, It being your job forever to make people happy, no choice to do any thing otherwise with out destroyed a story that has been living for as long as the world has been populated.
It's crazy… and sad.
I spotted my friend, Tinny, and headed over to say hello. Sitting down on the work bench next to her, I started fiddling around with her tub of paper clips.
‘Hey Missy, What are you doing here, Isn’t it your day off?’ I shrugged.
‘I was going to stop by and see Mrs C, but I saw Nicky heading over so giving them some time’. At the mention of his name, she perked right up. ‘What?’
‘That is a fine man, Don’t you think?’ Yes, Yes I definitely did.
‘If you are in to that type of guy’.
‘The hot type of guy?’ I couldn’t help but smile. ‘Oh come on, Even you, Miss goody two shoes knows you wouldn’t say no’.
‘Tinny, Shush. Have respect!’. She just rolled her eyes and went back to focusing on her work. ‘Ok.. Yes, he’s attractive’. She grinned again and looked over at me.
‘Attractive is an understatement and you know it’.
We carried on chatting while she finished her work, for a good hour or so. I had stuff i had to do today, so, i said my good byes and left. Heading back out in to the cold.
If Nicky was still there, so be it, I don’t want to waste my day hanging around, waiting. Besides, it's his father, It's doubtful he would be done any time soon.
