Chapter Ten Resting her head on Arthur’s shoulder, Eleanor fell into a doze as the miles rattled past. Dawn began to break when she awoke and she saw that they were already in the outskirts of London. Soon they were turning into a small street in Mayfair. Halfway down was a mews. Arthur stopped before it, opened a door with a key he produced from his pocket, and backed the horse and chaise inside. He took his bags from the chaise and helped Eleanor to the end of the mews and into the street. At one door they mounted the steps and Arthur rapped loudly.
