Chapter One : Meet Sam And Diana
She was playing hide and seek with her cousin. She had found the perfect place to hide ; the closet. After a few minutes, she could hear muffled voices that became clear while getting closer and closer. Someone was arguing with another. But then, she heard a piercing scream! She was too afraid to step out of the closet, but too curious to not open the door slightly, just enough for her to see. Though, what she witnessed was something she'll never be able to erase from her mind.
"Sam!" she heard someone calling her name. She didn't notice she zoned out.
"Yeah, I'm listening" she said.
"No, you totally weren't!" Diana chuckled, "it's okay, I'm so used to you zoning out on me if I'm not talking about a case."
Sam looked at her apologetically. It's true, she almost always does this. It's not that she doesn't care about what Diana has to say, it's just that she always finds herself unwillingly thinking back to that day! The day that changed not only her life but her family's as well.
Diana is Sam's trusted partner And best friend. They are both the best detectives in the city and the most attractive ones people may say.
Diana was a beautiful woman, with silky brown hair, naturally sun kissed skin, hazel almond shaped eyes, heart shaped lips and her body was to die for! From her round bust to her slim stomache and thick thighs. She was definitely a head turner.
Sam on the other hand, had raven black naturally wavey hair, rose beige skin, dark brown almost black round eyes, full pink lips and an hour glass figure. They were both stunning and breath taking. The difference was that Diana liked heavy makeup and wearing it on a daily basis. Where as Sam never really saw the point of it and always would keep her face natural. Maybe apply some mascara if she's feeling a little 'extra'. Though that's rarely happened. She was all business no games.
They were at a cafe, enjoying the end of a very non profitable day. They basically didn't have any new cases, just loads of paperwork. This would've been good, If there really weren't any women out there suffering. But both of them knew better than to believe that. You see, these women weren't just any detectives they were handling women abuse, murder and k********g cases. Every case they took meant another voice being heard.
"So, aren't you going to give Joe an answer?" asked Diana.
"You know he's not my type, so no, I'm not. Because he already knows my answer is No! I've told him twenty times already. literally!"
Joe was this really handsome yet cocky guy, who worked in a different department. He has been trying to date her for a long time, but she never accepted. Since it was her birthday last week, he sent her flowers and a box of chocolates with a card asking her out. She knew it was kind of rude not to give him an answer and trying her best to avoid him, but she thought to herself maybe this time he won't ask her again.
"Yeah, Sam! no one is ever your type. I swear you are secretly a nun!" Diana said sarcastically.
Sam just brushed it off. "Anyways! we should call it a night. Remember we got to be at the women's center at 8 am. They expect us to be there on time" Sam said knowing Diana never really cared about being on time.
"I'll be there on time, don't worry!"
"Yeah, I believe you!" Sam obviously was being sarcastic and Diana just rolled her eyes." I'll pick you up at 7:30… just in case" Sam knew this was the only way they would get there on time.
After reaching home, Sam took a shower and put her PJs on. She made herself yet another cup of coffee, because she never had enough. No amount of coffee was enough for her. And it never really kept her awake anyways. She took her cup and went to the living room. She lived alone for quite sometime since she moved out of her parents house and her small town years ago. Her living room was more like her second office, you'd find papers and pictures scattered everywhere on the coffee table. She sat down on her comfy couch, picked up her notes and was going through them to make sure everything was prepared for the next day. Diana and her volunteered at the women's center every month to give lectures about women abuse and how to get through it, how to defend themselves and make sure that women will report any kind of mistreatment.
