Chapter 14.
Megara.
I glanced around the battlefield, anxious to see if I had to fight anyone else, because I wasn’t sure I could. My hands trembled as I looked down upon them.
I was covered in blood and dirt, and filth.
Was I ever going to be clean again?
“Oh God... is it over?”
I could hear people yelling, and signs of retreat as the few humans who’d still been fighting, began to run in the opposite direction, back towards the portal and the Academy. They’d be lucky to make it. The remaining Fae soldiers were sure to get them.
I staggered to a tree and pressed my spine against the bark. My legs could barely hold me up to stand now.
I looked around the forest, and it was a complete mess.
