CHAPTER 5: Strange Case

SPO3 Dela Cruz's POV

"Good afternoon, Ma'am, Sir. I am SPO3 Francisco Dela Cruz. I'll be the leader of the police officers that will be in charge in your son's case." I said to the victim's parents.

On my few years serving in police department, it's my first time to encounter such a clean case like this. Even the detective didn't found any evidences that can show us the culprit. We are still waiting if there any CCTV footage that witnessed the case.

When I stood up from my swivel chair, it's also the time that my subordinates came in.

"SPO3 Dela Cruz." PO1 Romero greet and gave me salutation.

"What's the news? Did you find any CCTV footage?" I asked him.

"SPO3, We are able to collect some CCTV Footage." They replied as they gave me a small flash drive.

"But, as we played the footage, there is specific time that all the CCTV footage nearby became unstable. The signal went out so the CCTV Cameras was not able to record the incident. All we have in the footage is when the victim arrived at the crime scene and when the culprits are leaving with a Green Van."

"This case is getting more and more interesting. It seems like the suspects are knowledgeable enough about their settings. Maybe it was all planned already. This kind of crime happened around the country already but no one was able to unfold the truth yet. Maybe they are hackers or can be workers from different agencies." I replied.

"That's one of my conclusion too sir." He said.

"Alright. That's it for today. Update me when you find some evidences or clues.

"Yes, Sir." He replied and left with a salute.

I have to figure this out. I don't want any cases like this in my neighborhood anymore. I want my fellow citizens to have a comfortable and safe surroundings. I know this case will never be easy but I have to sold this.

On the other side, there are the twins that are trying to forget the crime. They don't want it to affect them so much.

Selene and Serene decided to look for a part time job. They want to save for their studies and expenses. They want to live for real. And not to live with fear.

"Do you think we can apply to some eatery near here in our place? We can apply as dishwashers." Serene asked.

"Let's try what we can. But I will try to have couple of jobs. A single job is not enough to save money for our study." Selene Replied.

"I miss Dada already, Selene. I wish he's still with us right now. I miss his songs and the assurance he gave us whenever we are afraid of something."

"So am I. But we have to face the reality. He is not here anymore. The one we looked up to is already somewhere resting. But surely, he is guiding and looking after us from afar." Selene said.

"You know what Selene, Dada is not here to comfort us. But I have you that always care for me and comforts me. I hope I am doing something good in you too."

"Silly, of course you do. As long as I have you beside me, I have the strength and reason to continue in life."

"Thank you, Selene. Thank you for always thinking about me. Thank you for always prioritizing me but don't forget that you are also someone who I love and prioritize the most. I love you!"

"I love you too!" Selene replied and pulled Serene for a hug.

The twins may not have everything in life or a lot of relatives but they are both strong and brave. They treat each other as their treasure.

Police's POV

"Did you find any clue or evidences?" I asked my subordinates.

"Sadly, We don't find any, Sir. The crime was so brutal yet the culprits left no traces of them. They are so hard to track. Maybe they are professional assassin or really a big Syndicate." He answered.

I really can't believe this. How can we solve a case that has no evidences or traces from the culprits. It's like looking a needle in a mountain of sand.

This is becoming more and more impossible to solve.

But what if the culprits are just roaming around? What if they are just looking after our moves. Then we should move quietly. We can make them believe that we are already closing the case. Also, we have to think deeper so we can create a bait fot them to be caught.

"Let's stop solving this case. This is leading us to nothing. Tell the parents that we are done with their son's case. That's all. Dismiss." I commanded

Then I showed him a paper that has "V'Z YLVAT" written on it.

"Noted, Sir. Salute!" He answered and salutes to me.

As he left my office, I went to secret room inside my office.

I have to think of ways how can I catch them. I know this will never be the last crime like this. They will surely wait for things to be normal.

I will wait for them to reappeared. And I hope, next time, we will be able to catch them already.

They appear in very strange time, create a strange crime. So I want to catch the in strangest way they could ever imagine.

Back to Third Person's POV

SPO3 Dela Cruz is eager to catch the culprits. No matter how dangerous it is, he wants to solve it. He wants to make a peace in their neighborhood. And it will only happen if they will find those strange suspects.

While the police officers are busy solving the case, the twins are busy looking for jobs too.

"Selene, this is our third store. Will they hire us?" Serene said looking so upset.

"Don't lose your hope. Everything will gonna be fine. We can find jobs soon." Selene said.

When they about to lose hope, Selene saw the store signage saying that they are looking for dishwashers.

They both look at each other and smile too. Right now, they are even more determined.

"Maybe this is what we are waiting for, Selene. Let's go." Serene said cheerfully.

As soon as they enter a small eatery, some people are looking at their directions.

Who wouldn't? There is this twins that looking so innocent, fragile and elegant with their simple white dresses. Yet they came here to work.

The manager was caught with their beauties. So she called them to go to the office to have their interviews.

"Come on here, we'll just have few questions for the two of you." The manager said.

And with that they have their first interview within the day. They are so cheerful that made the manager think that they will serve the customers cheerfully too.

"We want to congratulate you both because you passed the interview. Starting on monday, you will be working here. You can be the waitress." The manager said.

"Thank you so much, Ma'am. We'll prove you that you are not wrong in hiring us. We will work hard." Selene said.

"Surely, we will, Ma'am." Serene said too.

This is just a proof that even there are struggles in life, there will be a blessing too.
