Sophia Johnson did not come to the internet looking for love. She came looking for a remote job to pay her bills.

What she found instead was a Telegram group, a rude admin, and a late-night message exchange that changed everything.

Jasper Cane is brilliant, guarded, and not known for being sweet. He is the kind of man who replies with "ok" when you pour your heart out and hangs up before you can say anything serious. But somewhere between the tutorials and the midnight voice notes, something shifted for both of them.

When grief threatens to pull Sophia under, and a health scare reminds them both how fragile everything is, they are left with one question that no DM can answer easily:

Is love enough to stay when life gets complicated?

Finding Love in the DMs is a slow-burn romance about two people who find each other in the most unlikely of places and must decide whether what they have built in the digital world is strong enough to survive the real one.

Episode1
EPISODE 1 THE CONNECTION & CHAOS It was a cool evening. The breeze blew gently, as though it was about to rain. Sophia Johnson, a broke young lady, sat on a cushion, staring at the ceiling and thinking about what to do about her finances. “This Mass Communication that I’m studying is not giving me any money,” she sighed angrily. How did these two meet? Sophia was just looking for remote jobs to cover the bills; little did she know she would fall in love along the way. She had little clue about remote jobs, trading, content creation, and social media management, but she needed a remote job or something that could fetch her cash. With zero digital skills, she just had to do something because she saw online that some remote jobs don't require a skill set, so she joined a random Telegram group that could help her find ways to earn money. She found herself in this group of individuals with the same purpose as her. She was lost at first, but she had to fork around and find out. She was just busy texting random strangers to know what to do and what not to do. Jasper being one of the admins in the group, super active, answering questions here and there, she felt like; Ohh right, that’s the right guy to dm. She didn’t waste a minute, so she rushed into his DM. Hello, my name is Sophia. I found myself in your group. I’m just a newbie; could you help me out by telling me about remote jobs?? Jasper: Nice to meet you. What can you offer? She got a bit confused at some point: “What can I offer?” Do you mean money? She had to ask Jasper: Everything is not money, dear; I meant a skill. Sophia: Come on, man, I’m just a newbie; just help!!! Jasper: I can’t help you, sorry. Just like that ?! Sophia said to herself that she felt embarrassed, ashamed of asking for help; she kept wondering whether she should beg him. Will the sisterhood be proud of her if she begs Jasper? she said to herself. “It’s late; I need to sleep.” She wrapped up her head in shame and went to bed. The next morning, she woke up. Guess what came to her head? Exactly! You got it. She felt ashamed again as she sat on her bed. She grabbed her phone and opened the group chat again. Hundreds of messages had appeared overnight, but one notification caught her attention. Jasper Cane had sent her a message. Jasper: Hi Sophia, so sorry about yesterday. I wasn’t in the best mood yesterday. I hope you understand, but you can ask me anything. Have a wonderful day. Sophia thought maybe she should portray herself as a hard girl and never reply, but on second thought, he had already apologized, so it’s best to let go. She replied, “It’s fine”. But she wasn’t comfortable with the response; at the same time, she didn’t know what to send next, so she dropped her phone and went on with her chores. Because she had morning lectures.. Sophia had lost her dad during the first week of the 100-level resumption; it weighed her down, so she considered quitting, but her mom insisted she continue. She wasn’t from a rich family, but they never went hungry or a full day without at least 2 square meals. She traveled back to school with the money they got from condolence visits, because people visited and gave them money, and she also took a few foodstuffs from home. Sophia has a friend, Jennifer Martinez; she’s her coursemate and roommate. They met on their first day at uni, and since then, they have become best friends, go to school together, and do everything together. But sometimes misunderstandings occur; instead of letting those issues break their friendship, they would rather fix them. It was a sunny afternoon. Sophia and Jennifer were walking toward the school’s front gate to board their cab and head home; they looked sweaty and tired after a long day at school. Sophia: “I don’t know how some guys think. Must you be rude?” Jennifer: “What are you talking about?” Sophia: “So, I texted this guy, telling him about wanting to learn a remote job. He just said, ‘I can’t teach you, sorry,’ in his exact words. Then he went ahead and said sorry this morning. What do you think I should say to him?” Jennifer: “He must have had a bad day for him to say that, then come apologizing. Just forgive him. I mean, it’s nothing serious.” “It’s nothing serious?!” Sophia said. “I felt embarrassed.” I don’t even know what to say to him; let’s just go” Jennifer: “Don’t tell me you’re including emotions in this; you just met him; how can you be asking him to teach you something for free, be for real, girl” Sophia: “Just support me for once; the cab is here, let’s go. Sophia figured out she could learn how to trade on YouTube, so she started learning the basics there. Since she doesn’t have the money to pay anyone, she started learning about crypto, DeFi jobs, airdrops, and NFTs, cause people are now making money from crypto. First off, she took an interest in DeFi jobs and airdrops because they were things she could do without spending money. DeFi jobs were interesting, especially in community management; she had to open Twitter and Discord accounts and started applying, but it wasn’t easy. She had to volunteer for communities, but they weren’t paying her; it was that difficult, until she connected with someone on Discord who helped her with more knowledge on airdrops. Leo became a very close friend of Sophia; he started helping her navigate different communities and projects she could benefit from, like airdrops. Leo is also a trader based on Lagos Island; he enjoyed his friendship with Sophia because she is always trying to learn new things and is a fast learner, so they were cool. >>>>>>>>>>>>> Sophia was filling in her school practical manuals while viewing her w******p status when she came across Jasper’s post. The environment he had snapped his picture in looks exactly like a particular place in her school, so she went ahead to text him and asked, “Evening block? He replied No Sophia said to herself, “Just no? This boy must be joking, so he can’t add another thing to the message” She didn’t reply, so after a few minutes, he texted, “Why did you ask?” Sophia replied, “The place looks like my school, so I’m just asking. You look good, by the way; what did you do?” Jasper: “ I just defended my final year project” “Ohhh, congratulations on that,” said Sophia. “Thank you,” Jasper responded. Early hours of the night Sophia had posted a screenshot of the Analysis she did on a crypto pair, she wasn’t just if she was correct or wrong, she just posted and captioned it “ when will I ever know what I’m doing on this chart” not up to 5mins, a notification pops up, it was Jasper “ send me a message on Telegram with my username @jasper200 I will send you something” You need to see the excitement on Sophia's face; unknown to her, she was smiling sheepishly. “Did we win the lottery?” Jennifer said, staring at her. Sophia: “Not that, I just saw something.” Jennifer: “Okay, I just hope it’s not more than what you just saw because you look like someone who just found love” Sophia: “You’re not serious” Sophia went ahead to send “hello” to Jasper on Telegram; he was online, so he replied with a recorded video on Technical analysis. “I hope this helps he said “Yes, yes, it will. Thank you so much; I haven’t had anyone trying to help like this; you just solved my problem tonight,” Sophia said. Jasper: “ok” “This boy is weird; who does that? I just showed this much appreciation, and all I get is, "o and k," as in "ok," gosh!!! I regret entering your dm” Sophia started lamenting. Jennifer, a K-drama freak, was busy watching a new drop on the K-drama “Vincenzo." As she noticed Sophia was talking to herself, she got up from the bed and asked, “Is everything okay with you ?” Sophia gave her a side eye and responded, “This Jasper boy is feeling like a demi-god; it’s annoying.” “Jasper again?! Can you get over this boy already? It's not like you guys are dating; why is he giving you so much unrest?” Sophia: “He sent me a video on TA- Technical Analysis, and I appreciated him; his boy responded with ok” Jennifer “Okayyyy…. Then leave him alone.
