I glanced over at Daniel and he was frowning at his phone. The reason he has been so grumpy lately was that there were some issues with his parents back home in South Korea. It involved the family business and his sister.

He was very vague about the details and often apologized to me. I blame Mack and his damn intrusion on our honeymoon for starting things out on the wrong foot. I sighed and looked through some case files.

With Alexei gone, I have taken on most of his clients, while his dad has taken on the few that seemed a little shady. I don’t care what they do or how they make their money as long as it doesn’t involve hurting children or animals.

“Oh, Jer bear,” I blinked and then stared at Daniel who was grinning at me. Narrowing my eyes, I knew he was up to something, and with that sexy grin, was distracting me. I knew he had bad news though. I placed my glasses on the table and rubbed the bridge of my nose.

“Yes, Danny boy, what can I do for you?” He came over and sat in my lap and I knew he was going to be heading back home for a longer period than usual this time.

“How long will you be gone this time?” He frowned and I felt horrible about the shrewish tone I had taken with him. I was having an issue with a new case file I received from one of my old schoolmates in the US.

“A few weeks at least, my father is not doing well. The stress of what Layla has done to him is causing him to have heart issues.” I frowned and Daniel shrugged.

“I told him it was all the Soju and junk food he consumes. However, they need to run some tests on him and I have to help Mum tie up some loose ends.” I hugged him close and hated that there was a tattered rift between us.

Maybe we ended up marrying too soon?

“Hey, none of that.” I looked into his rich earthy eyes and he kissed me on the forehead.

“None of what?” I closed my eyes and just existed in the moment.

“Thinking that we married too quickly. This is just a minor hiccup. Besides, I have something here that will keep you occupied.” There was a mischievous note in his voice and now I was even more suspicious.

“I mean Cassius and Sully did pretty much say they would have a threesome with me, but I only want you.” The blank look on Daniel’s face forced the laughter to bubble out of me and I leaned back chuckling.

“That looked like it short-circuited your brain for a minute there Danny boy.”

“Yeah, it did. I did think Sullivan was bisexual. I have seen the way he looks at you. I would be jealous but I know you’re my bitch.” I swatted at him and he rolled his eyes.

“Cassius is a bit surprised, but then again, he is the dark horse Baba brought to the stable, so I didn’t really get a chance to feel him out.” I pinched Daniel’s leg and he gave a yelp of surprise.

“You better not be feeling either of them out. You’re mine. Now what is this surprise you have for me?” Daniel pulled up his phone and typed out a text and my phone pinged.

“Why couldn’t you just show me?”

“It is more fun to watch your eyes light up when you see it for yourself. Besides, you are going to need the picture for reference.”

My eyes went wide as I enlarged the picture of Great Britain and the route of lewdly named towns. I cackled and slapped a hand over my mouth.

“I knew you would like it. You can either start in Twatt and end in Shitterton or vice versa.” He was grinning and I hugged him.

“This ALMOST makes up for you going away.” Daniel ran a hand through his hair as I sent a text to Anna.

“You and Anna can go on the road trip, take Sully and Cassius as well. Have some fun, but not too much fun.” I scoffed at him.

“Baby, I never have fun anymore. Those days are behind me. I’m an old married man now.”

“Oh, you have the old part right. I saw some gray hairs peeking through your curls the other day.” I gasped in mock horror and then laid my head on Daniel’s chest as he stroked my back.

“You going to be alright?”

“I need to say no to my parents sometimes, but with Layla’s actions and her nearly going to jail in Bangkok, I just can’t tell them no yet. They need at least one child they could count on.” I hated the fact that the burden had to fall on Daniel’s shoulders.

Me: Hey Anna, I have something to show you I’m coming to your room now.

Anna: I’m getting dressed and I’m half naked, so unless you want to see things that will traumatize you. I suggest knocking first.

An idea hit me and I sent a text to Cassius and Sully to head to Anna’s room. She said to walk right in. I gave a maniacal laugh and Daniel quirked an eyebrow at me.

“What did you just do?”

Stuffing my phone in my pocket, I gently pushed Daniel off my lap and gave him a kiss.

“You’re going to hear some screaming. I just sent Sully and Cassius to Anna’s room and she is getting dressed.” My bestie needed to get some vitamin D and what better chance than exploring some towns that had names like d**k Place and c**k Bridge.

“You are a troublemaker baby. I’m sorry to do this to you but go have fun and take pictures in front of welcome signs if they have them.” He placed another kiss on my forehead and walked out of the room, casting another sad glance my way.

I decided that he and I were going to take a road trip along the same route when he got back. He needs some sexy time with Jer.

For now, I was going to see how things were going with Anna and the dynamic duo. I hope this girl can at least get it in with one of them on this trip. Maybe she should ask Baba for some advice.

The visual of Baba in dominatrix gear flashed in my brain and I gave a shudder. It's best not to go down that route or I may swear off s*x altogether.
