Gregor
Sighing, I tucked my phone back into the front pocket of my shirt. Maisie was humming along to some Taylor Swift songs. I couldn’t believe that Dahlia was ignoring my calls, I hadn’t talked to her in a few days and I wanted to let her know that I was going along with Maisie’s hare-brained scheme.
“Yer girl still not picking up? What did ye do to her to piss her off?” I scowled at Maisie and she shrugged going back to her singing. We were going to visit my mother to tell her the good news and then Maisie suggested we go visit Anna.
The woman believes I need closure with Anna before I can truly move on with Dahlia. Maybe that is why Dahlia was ignoring me as well.
“I still dona understand why ye need to come along with me when I go see Anna?” She giggled and I frowned at her. I still did not know what to make of her.
“Oh yes, I do, firstly I want to talk more with her friend Jer he seems like a real blast. I also want to talk more with her. I do believe she and I could become fast friends.” I gave another shudder; I knew that they would probably end up the best of friends.
“That is not the real reason ye are just looking to see if there will be drama.” She laughed and I knew that was the real reason she wanted to go along on this trip.
“I have heard from yer grandfather that she is feisty. I may just want to see her throw fisticuffs with ye.” I shot Maisie an annoyed side eye and she continued giggling.
I wasn’t sure how I felt about going to Anna’s place, especially since she seemed to find a place that was as far away from me as possible. My phone rang and Maisie rolled her eyes as my mother’s name flashed on the screen.
“Ye can tell the dragon that we are taking a trip together and that we dona wish to be disturbed.”
“Ye CAN tell me mother that. She loves ye,” I hit the speaker and my mother’s voice filled the car.
“Gregor where are ye? Ye have a previous engagement with the club and Maisie should be joining ye.” I silently cursed under my breath and Maisie looked as annoyed as I felt.
“We are going on a bit of a holiday for the weekend Mrs. Mackenzie, ye won’t be able to get a hold of us after this call.” My mother tittered and I could practically see her celebrating.
“Oh hello, Maisie dear. I am so sorry to disturb ye. Yes, I will let everyone know that ye two will be indisposed. Toodles dolls.” The line went dead and I let out a sigh of relief.
“Turn yer phone off Mackenzie and sit back to enjoy the game.” This was a slippery game she was playing and I just hoped I was not the one that would get burned in the end.
