Chapter Thirteen
The trip back home was much calmer, my troop had gotten their blood lust satisfied for a while not that they would not enjoy a sooner possibility. The thing about being the most notorious is that eventually people fear to even challenge you. Not that they were not foolish souls that still attempt it, but it was no longer massive army’s that we take down.
Even I missed the thrill of just the 10 of us standing in front of a field full of enemy. The way my body would fill just giddiness, the look of the smug faces on the armies, the moment they realized they should have believed the rumors. I missed it, watching as my troops victorious over the blood stained field.
“That was a good hunt,” Hunter spoke as he walked next to me. He was the youngest member, and we tend to be a bit overprotective of him. Not that they midnight black hair boy needed it. His baby blues shined with sated with his latest kill. He was the most blood thirst out of us, I honestly sent him out most missions. With supervision of course.
Trinity draped her arm over his shoulder. “Did you have fun my cub?”
“Would you stop calling me that,” He groaned, secretly we knew he enjoyed the nickname.
“But it fits you so,” One of the other members behind me snickered, as I covered my mouth with the back of my hand enjoying the pout that was on his face.
“Are you going to leave after this,” Hunter asked looking at me. I lifted my eyebrow to question what he was going on about. “you’re a mother now, we understand but we will miss you.”
I looked at the other member who looked like there puppy was just kicked.
“I have the same blood thirst that you have,” I laughed. “Motherhood or whatever other title I may gain in this life will never take that away from me. Why do you think Trinity and Serenity haven’t gotten their own troops, it would me less field time for me that is why.”
“Is that why,” Serenity asked truly surprised.
“Of course, it is,” I smiled at them. “It is purely selfish reason.”
“I think her blood lust has gotten motherhood; she usually plays with the prey before going in for the kill.” Somer laughed.
The Vulture shifter spoke, her ash blond hair was pulled into a loose ponytail, and her red eyes shined with mischief.
“You know how the monologues bore her,” Trinity chuckled.
It only took three more hours before our kingdom came into view, with my father and Darius waiting for us at the gate.
“I trust you were successful General,” my father now in business mode. I smirked as a blood soaked cotton bag was thrown at me feet.
“It was quite easy,” we bowed to them as my brother took the proof.
“Good, we will present your proof to the Kings, you all deserve some rest.” And with that, to keep up with formalities my father and brother left first.
“I need a drink,” Hunter shouted as he went to the local bar that was open many other following him.
“I’m going to see my princess,” I smiled at the girls before leaving.
When I walked into the NICU room, Tristian had the little girl laying on his chest, both of them fast asleep.
“Hey love,” Asher whispered as he pulled me against him. “She is better, we can take her out of the NICU soon.”
His lips pressed against the side of my head, “She is so strong just like you my love.”
“Did he name her yet,” I asked looking at Asher with wonder one the name that was finally given to my princess.
“Princess Aria,” I looked at Tristian as he looked at him. “After her grandmother who fought for her even in death.”
I could not stop the tears, as I watched Tristian bring our princess to us.
Asher and I looked at the bundle in Tristian arms, as she just slept without a care in the world. She was safe, she was cared and loved for, and our little princess was quite aware of it.
“This is quiet a sight,” I turned to see the Kings, Queens, my family, Serenity and Trinity.
“Do you have a name yet,” Asher’s mom asked.
“We were waiting for you,” Tristian smiled as I looked at him in question, he handed the little girl in a pink blanket, who I placed against my chest.
“Meet Princess Aria,” I smiled looking at my father and brothers.
“As it should be,” Tristian fiery personality came out as she whole heartily approved.
