Chapter Thirty-Three

289 Words
At Sachman's storage, we asked the security guard we saw for the direction of 55A, the number of the storage we were after. He looked at us suspiciously so I quickly tried to ease the tension. “We’re just here to pick up some stuff,” I said as we walked away. Looked like that wasn't enough for him because he stopped us with his voice, “I've never seen you here before”. I turned back, telling Carrie and Leah not to turn so he wouldn't see their faces. I and the guy looked at each other squarely then I smiled, “Yeah our uncle left us something and only told us about it recently”. He stared for a while then just simply waved for us to go, “it's down there on the left”. I turned back and we just kept on walking. We found storage 55A after almost mixing the place up. The three of us stood in front of the door and just stared at it for a while. I stepped forward with the key to unlock the door. "Time to get our answers. I opened the door. I looked around as we stepped in, the place was dark, it smelled really dusty so I covered my nose for a few minutes to adjust. I turned to Carrie and told her to look around for a light switch and Leah turned on the flashlight for her to see properly. After searching around a bit, she found the switch and turned on the light. The place looked a bit normal, just old furniture and a couple of boxes. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, as we looked around for clues.
