Chapter 3~Tvs & Talk Shows!
"They made me out to be a monster! And I did not try to kill Selena, it was an accident, my conscious is clear" says Salvador on Selena's tv.
She had the nerve to be on 20/20 telling her side of the story! Already!
Selena was fuming with anger inside the pit of her chest for this hateful woman who kept on spilling lies. Lie after lie. She did not know how much more she could stand.
She sat there with Chris, Suzette, and her parents as they had their eyes glues to the tv screen. They were doing the interview on Yolanda from woman's prison. Yolanda was behind bars until the trial.

"Selena let me turn this garbage off" her mother tries to get the remote from her daughter. Selena pushes her mother away.
"No, no mom I need to hear the lies she plans to feed my fans" says Selena sternly.
Her mom sighs but sits back down in her chair.
"She was like a cuddling bear, that allowed you to love her, she let me call her mom, she told me I give you that right" says Salvador as she looks at the screen.
A chill washes over Selena.
"I never EVER called you mother you monster!" Selena snaps at the tv with anger.
Chris takes her by the hand then leads her into the kitchen.
"Selena baby we don't have to watch this. They can and then they can tell you what was said" Chris reminds her gently.
She shakes her head. "I need to know. So, I know what to fight when I go to court against her. Chris she is lying to everyone. It was not an accident. She had a gun. She intended to meet with me and kill me. She was scared because dad threatened her. And she knew the gig was up. She knew she was going to jail. She wanted to make me pay" Selena woefully answers as tears fill her eyes.
Chris encircles his arms around her.
"We will get that woman behind bars and she will stay there" Chris promises her. "for good"
"I need to watch this" she tells him. "Alright? Do you understand me?" she asks softly. "This is something I have to do"
"Fine" answers Chris. "we will do it together"
He takes her back into the living room to watch tv. Her dad was on tv now. He had given his statement because Selena had not been ready to yet.
But she had a feeling she could soon. She would tell her story against Salvador. Tell her fans the truth about what really went down that day.

"I knew Yolanda was embezzling money from the fans from us. Thousands of dollars went missing from our funds. We have proof she was stealing from us. I called Yolanda and told her that we would not stand for this. That I would be in touch with the police about the matter. We would get our money back. And then Selena went to confront her. I wish she had let the police deal with Yolanda. Then this would have never happened the way it had" her father speaks on the screen. He looked upset. So deep in thought like he could not believe this happened to his family.
"Dad you did great" praises Suzette.
"You really did well dad" says Selena in agreement.
"Let's not watch anymore. I can't stand it" her mother speaks up. "she lies. All lies"
"I know what I can do to make this better" says Selena.
"What do you plan on doing Selena?" worries Chris.
Selena turns off the tv. She heads over to the phone. She makes a phone call.
"Hi, are you still interested in hearing my story? Yes, I am ready. But I want my full story heard. Nothing about what Yolanda is saying is true" states Selena.
"We are pleased you contacted Oprah's office. We have been waiting to hear back from you Miss. Quintanilla" says the man on the other end of the phone.
"Pleasure is all mine. Let's set this up very soon" she answers.
"She will be in touch with you this week" the man says before they hang up.
"Are you ready for this Selena?" frets Suzette. "A tv interview?"
"I sure am. I do not want my fans believing I am a push over. That I let that monster take advantage that I ever allowed her to say she is my mom. I never did what she said. How dare she" Selena speaks up with anger in her voice. She never been so betrayed before.
"That is my girl" says Suzette.
"I will go to. We all can and tell our story" agrees Chris.
"It is time they heard it right from us" agrees her father.
"They are very soon" Selena says.
"This is a cause for a celebration. Because after that is the trail and that god awful woman will be behind bars. Let's go get dinner. On me" her mother speaks up.
Trying to cheer them all up.

"Mom have you ever thought of making Papayas have a grand reopening. We could make a chain of them now" speaks up Suzette.
"No, I am not fit to run a restaurant. I have to help Selena and the band they are our focus now" her mother says. "that dream has passed on"
"Let's go get some real Mexican food" her father says. "I am starving now that you mention it"
They all get up and head out of the house. Not giving Yolanda another thought to ruin their day. They could go out and enjoy their day. Yolanda was behind bars wishing she could live her life.
That gave Selena comfort to know. Selena gets into Chris sports car. They all head into town to celebrate. They soon would be flying off to Hollywood to film the Oprah show. That would be exciting.
Chris parks their car when they pick a place in town. Chi Chi's Mexican food was open. He opens her car door for her when they are parked.
She takes his hand. He could be a real gentleman sometimes. One of the reasons she cared so deeply about that man. He smiles at her as he shuts the car door.

"You feeling better sweetie?" he worries.
"A little. That woman was getting to me. You were right" she says. "I should listen"
"Yes, you should. I try to help you" he softly says.
He kisses her on the cheek as they walk into the restaurant.
Everyone is staring when they go in.
"Selena!!" a young little Mexican girl cries with joy. Her mom makes her sit back down on the waiting bench there.
"Dear they are out to eat. Do not bother them" her mother whispers to the girl.
"Can I have a napkin and pen please?" Selena asks the hostess.
She nods then gets that for Selena.
"What is your name?" Selena asks the girl as she approaches her.
"Megan" the girl breaths out in awe of Selena.
"To Megan my mega fan, Selena" she says as she writes the girl an autograph then hands it to the girl.
"Wow, thanks" says the little girl.
"She saw you back in Houston. She is a big fan" her mother tells her.
"Pleasure is all mine. Love my fans" Selena tells them.
"You are sweet as can be" gushes the mother.
"Thanks" laughs Selena.
"Good luck with your trial" the mom tells her.
Selena nods.
"Right this way we can seat you" offers the hostess.
"It was not our turn. We can wait like everyone else" warns Selena.
"Are you sure?" worries the hostess.
"Sure" says Selena with a smile.
The little girl looks up at her with admiration. That was why she loved to sing. Right there. She needed this reminder.
It warmed her heart. The hostess takes the mother the girl and father to be seated instead of Selena as requested. She was just like all of them. She wanted them to see that. She just loved to sing. For them.
Her people!
