ONE - Betrayal
“Faster…” “Like this?” “Ye…yes! Don’t stop!” “I can’t stop baby, not even if you told me to” “Kai!!” “c*m for me baby” “Aaahhh! Yes!” I stood, frozen as I listened to them, file long discarded on the floor and phone in hand from receiving a call that brought me here. It sounded like Rosalia was having s*x with Kaius but I didn’t want to believe my boyfriend of five years would cheat on me with my cousin. In haste to prove myself wrong, I opened the door to the office with a heavy heart. Palms sweating profusely and fingers crossed, praying to be proven wrong but alas, I was right. Rosalia was on Kaius’ lap and he was sitting on her table with all my sketches on the floor and her legs in their place. This position put her in direct eyeline with the door which was exactly why she looked at me with a smirk on her face and my blood ran cold. Rosalia never smirked. She was the kind of person who screamed dainty and lovely, with a touch of naive innocence but this shrewd image before me was a complete contrast to her persona. And suddenly I understood what was going on. Rosalia called me to come to her office to pick up my sketches from our company. She used it as a front to show me that she was sleeping with Kaius and I was the only one in the dark. This was an unfamiliar side of Rosalia, a side I didn’t know existed until today. Her kind, composed persona was a sham. This was her true personality, which made me realize she had been pretending all her life. She smirked at me while having s*x with my boyfriend. Ignoring the sudden burn in my chest, I called out, surprising myself at how calm I sounded. “So this is what you do behind my back” In shock, Kaius stood up and dumped Roselle in his previously occupied position, turning to me. His face paled and that sent a little burn of satisfaction down my throat. "A-Aurora it r-really is you. What are you doing here?" Kaius stuttered while running a hand through his messy brown hair. I stared blankly, refusing to give him an easy way out of the mess he created. Realizing that I wasn't going to respond, he cleared his throat. "Listen to me Auro, it really isn't what you think. You believe me right?" he chuckled awkwardly and I couldn't help the scoff that left my lips. "Kaius, I really can't believe a word coming from your mouth while you look like that, maybe you might want to do something about your flustered state then try again?" I paused and looked at him. He was totally naked, his body a sweaty mess and his usually calm emerald eyes were glazed and running wild. "Put on some pants, then you can try lying your way out of this mess. Not sure your explanation will do s**t though” He immediately scrambled around, looking for his pants to put on. Not sparing him another glance, I turned to Rosalia who had a glint in her doe-shaped eyes. Unlike Kaius, she was clothed from her waist down and her upper body was bare, showcasing her fair skin. "Aurora, you really can't blame me for this. You never wanted me to touch you and you're too independent. I want a woman who can depend on her man and be submissive." Kaius uttered Noticing Kaius was facing us, Rosalia immediately wore a look of regret. I scoffed again, suddenly feeling a strong headache. "Kaius, do you hear yourself? Are you trying to say that you cheating on me with my cousin is my fault?" I asked incredulously "I'm not saying it's your fault but look at it this way, your actions pushed me to do this and-" "You pathetic jerk” I bit out, interrupting his gaslighting and blame shift. "Aurora, you can't be mad at Kai, it's my fault," Rosalia said, her voice taking a shaky tone and her eyes watering. This act made me realize I really hated Rosalia. With that realization, I faced her entirely. "Kai? Is he Kai now? Rosalia?” I called out "Hm?" she responded "You disgust me. In the future, let's not act like we're sisters. From henceforth, you're just my aunt's daughter and that's it." I spat and to my astonishment, she suddenly burst into tears. "Aurora! You really can't speak to her like that, apologize now" Kaius chastised while hugging Rosalia to his side and I laughed at his audacity. "Kaius, I'm breaking up with you. You can date Rosalia since she is your standard. You both should have a happy and long life together" And with that, I turned to leave. "Aurora, it hasn't come to that extent. We can work this out. Auro-" Seeing Kaius was about to follow me, Rosalia immediately cried out. "Kai, you need to stop Aurora. She just took a photo of me" I frowned in confusion but did not stop to question her incredulity. "What? Aurora get back here this instant! You are not about to ruin your sister's life because of your selfishness" Kaius yelled I didn't pay them any mind and walked out of the office. Marveling at their stupidity. Noticing I wasn't listening to him, Kaius suddenly yelled out "Security! Go after her!" And like a terrible nightmare, I watched in shock as three buff men came prowling towards me. I knew all the security personnel we had in our company and these men do not belong. They looked fierce, in short, Kaius had released thugs on me. In fear, I had no choice but to run. I raced through the empty office corridor lit with white bulbs quickly pressing the elevator buttons and urging it to open. As I stepped in one of the men stretched his hand. He nearly had it through but the doors pinged shut on time. "Take the stairs, now" I heard them yell and quickly prayed the elevator would take me to the grand floor where I could make my escape through the lobby. Immediately, it pinged open and I quickly raced through the spacious lobby filled with people. Pushing past them to get to the glass door, I saw the men racing down the stairs and running toward me in the swarm of people. While I was having little difficulty in getting the people to move out of my way, the men made way with their guns held threateningly at anyone in their way, and my face whitened. I quickly pushed through the door, not caring to pull the silver doorknob, and raced down the buzzing streets while looking for an escape route. Suddenly, my eyes landed on a limousine across the street with its door wide open. Not looking, I crossed the street, ignoring the frantic horns blaring at my risky movement, and quickly entered the car, not stopping to question its oddity. Then I closed it shut with a bang. I sneaked a glance back and realized the thugs were coming at me and one of them seemed to have dragged an old man from his grey Camry with the intent of using it to pursue. "Go, go! Move the car, now!" I yelled out but my urgency was met with radio silence. With the intent to know why apart from the obvious reasons that I was technically hijacking a car, I turned back but was met with a black haired kid holding a tablet firmly on his lap and staring at me curiously with big pale blue eyes, his curls framing his face softly. He was sitting across from me but his chubby legs couldn't reach the floor, so they were left hanging. Despite my predicament, I managed to flash him a smile. He stared at me blankly for a short while and when I thought he would scream and I would be caught by the men, he flashed me a small smile then turned on his seat and knocked once on the divider separating us from the driver. Immediately, the car moved. I looked at the boy in shock realizing he understood my state and made the driver drive without asking any questions. I felt my eyes water slightly and I smiled at him gratefully. Not wanting to let the kid see me ugly cry, I discreetly wiped under my eyes and then turned to him with a huge smile. "My prince charming" I cooed and it seemed to bring a huge smile on his face which made him lower his head while fiddling shyly with the hem of his shirt. Noticing his expression, my heart seemed to lighten and I found myself scooting forward. "So what's this little prince's name?" I asked and he looked up at me. Yet again, I thought he wouldn't respond but he shocked me delightfully when he said softly "Jason” "Wow, such a beautiful name. Jason, you’re such a brave kid" I praised and watched in amusement as a little pout appeared on his lips. "I'm not a kid" he softly protested and I found myself grinning at his cuteness "Really?" He nodded vigorously "But there's nothing wrong with being called a kid.” I said and watched his face lighten and his fat cheeks color red in a blush. My hands itched to pinch his adorable cheeks and before I could help it, my hands were stretched to carry out my intrusive thoughts. "It would be in your best interest to keep your filthy hands to yourself if you don't want to lose it" I turned to my side and then screamed at the figure looming beside me "No…” I said as my eyes widened in shock
