Moving on

I left the house early this morning to clear my head after everything from last night. I went for a run and later into the woods, it’s my place, a place where I came to think and escape from reality. I sat next to a tree and thought how to continue after yesterday, what to do? How should I treat Theo? What does the future hold for me? I want to run away but I have nowhere to go, I can't leave my mother alone, if I run away what if my dad finds me? He will kill me. The more I thought, the harder it was to find a solution. I headed home, I have to get ready and leave before everyone else wakes up, I don’t want to meet anyone, especially not Theo. I'll call Any to have breakfast together at Sol. I have to tell her what happened, maybe she has some advice.

I came home, took a shower, put on a pink sweater, jeans, black boots and a black jacket. I put on powder, mascara, a little blush, gloss and made a messy bun. Before I met Any I went to the library to get the books I was missing for school. School was my priority right now, I want to go to college.

The day at school passed quickly, luckily I didn’t meet Theo or any of his friends. Although I didn’t want to go to the party I was excited, Any is right, even I deserve to have fun.

I came home, and my mom was waiting for me.

- Honey, we need to talk, I have good news. -she said happily.

-Really? -I asked, hoping she had talked to Alpha about the house by the river.

- Yes, Alpha Alex allowed us to move to a house by the river. -she replied excitedly.

-Party? My daughter agreed to go to the party? -Mom asked in shock.

Any giggled and pulled me into the room so we wouldn't be late.

The first dress was red, short and lace, through which one could clearly see the underwear, the second was light blue, short, sequined, deep neckline and open back, the second still looked nicer so I chose it. She left my hair loose, accentuated my eyes with black eyeliner and silver glossy eyeshadow, put some gloss on my lips and silver heels on my legs. Any wore a short black-and-purple dress with a corset and black high heels. Her hair was curly, black eyeliner and red lipstick. She looked like a real vamp woman.

We arrived at the party, and everyone turned to us. They were surprised by what they saw. I felt my cheeks turn red. Luckily Luca saved the day.

- Look, look who got it. -he shouted, running towards me and lifting me up.

-Just relax baby, they're watching you because you're perfect. - he whispered in my ear.

- What about me? I want a hug too. -Any said in a babyish voice.

Luca hugged her and led us through the crowd to the table.

- Sit down, ladies, I'll get you a drink. -he said with a bow.

Luca brought us a drink, we talked, danced and had fun, I felt the alcohol start to work so I went to the bar for water. There stood Theo with David, he had a black T-shirt and a black leather jacket, black jeans, every muscle on his body was visible, I knew clearly why everyone was afraid of him, I was wondering whether to leave or not but I didn’t want to go home drunk. I came closer and asked for a bottle of water.

-Oh wow Nyssa, you look perfect. - David said scanning me.

-Thank you, you're handsome too. - I answered with a smile.

-Thank you. Do you want to have a drink with us? -he asked.

- I doubt it, maybe the young lady has other company. - I heard Theo's voice behind me. I would probably listen to him and leave but as I drink a little more I took that as a challenge.

- Actually, I'd like to stay. -I replied, looking Theo straight in the eyes. He looked up at me, raising an eyebrow. I stood between him and David, paying more attention to David, and I swear I could hear Theo growling behind me. David is actually a good boy, he is the only one from Theo's company without ever insulting me, he was with them but he never did me any harm. He is a little shorter than Theo, brown hair and brown eyes, muscular body. He is one of the womanizers, constantly surrounded by girls but none of them stay with him for long.

David told jokes, he is charming and I am really comfortable in his company. Even Theo, to my surprise, relaxed a bit and made a few jokes. Any joined us, and she and David clicked, as if there was a spark between them. I started to feel like a third wheel.

- Have fun, I'm leaving you. -I said, getting up.

-Why? Stay with us a little longer. -Any said.

-I'm sorry, I can't, I drank a little too much, and I have to get up early because of moving out. Theo looked at me questioningly, nothing was clear to him.

-Let Theo take you home, you live in the same house anyway. -David said looking at Theo. Theo was confused and didn't know what to say.

- No need, I'll walk, I need to sober up a little. - I answered quickly. I greeted them quickly and left.

- Nyssa, wait, I'll take you. - I heard Theo's voice.

I was at a party with David, I wanted to go out and get away from Ella, the last few days I am annoyed by her appearance. -Nyssa, wait, I'll take you. - I shouted after her.

-No need, really. I don't want it to happen again the other night. - she answered me, I felt guilty about it.

-No, I promise, I want to make up for it. - I answered honestly, opening the car door.

- Yes.

- Yes, you are the reason. -she replied quietly. -I looked at her, she bowed her head avoiding the look. I fell silent, I knew the answer but I didn't know how to react, what to say.

- I'm afraid of you Theo, I'm really afraid of you, after that threat I don't know what you're capable of doing to me. -she said, squeezing her dress.

- Forgive me, I was angry, I didn't control myself. I know it's no excuse but I would never hit you. -I said, looking at her.

- But you did, look at my hand, there are bruises left because of you. - She pointed to her elbow. I stopped the car, looked into her hand and she was blue from my grip. I looked into her eyes and saw fear and tears welling up. I didn't want her to cry.

- Forgive me, I'm sorry. I know I can't make up for it, but at least give me a second chance, I won't treat you like that anymore. -I said taking her hands in mine, I knew I could take her pain, that's what I did, the bruise was gone, that's the least I can do.

When I touched her Jake answered. He was mad at me and didn’t want to go out until now.

I started the car and we drove home and Jake was still talking in my head.
