Ivy POV
The old man, whom I learned name was Dave, dropped me off at the local takeaway after assuring me they had the best deep fried chicken in the state.
I order 3 pieces with some chip and gravy, then grabbed a ice coffee from the fridge too paid for it and found a table to wait at.
The take away had a nice little dining area, of about 10 tables, some booths along the wall, I was seated in one of the booths when a group of guys walked in laughing.
I lower my eyes to the table focusing my eyes on my ice coffee, I was not looking for company, but after they ordered their meals, it seemed they were.
"Hi, Do you mind if we sit with you?" One of them asked, with a reluctant sigh I looked up, they guy who'd spoken looked about my age with a polite smile, his friends grinned wickedly, watching the exchange without comment.
"There are other tables, So I see no reason to share, I'm enjoying the space." I say with a wave, before looking away bored.
"Although you are correct, soon there will be the after school rush and you'll find all the tables filled, and plenty of students asking to keep you 'Company'." The guy added, I couldn't see myself getting out of this easily and if on cue, a group of at least 15 girls enter giggling, they all looked to the boys, standing before me.
I closed my eyes, with an frustrated sigh, I gestured for them to sit, which they did quickly, sliding into the booth either side of me.
At the moment my order was called out, I rolled my eyes at the timing, boxed in this would be such a hassle.
"It's okay, I can get that for you." The boy on my left said, he looked slightly older than the rest of the group his silvery eyes reminded me of Conrad's, I offered a thankful smile as he stood, walking to the counter.
I lost sight of him, as he was swallowed by the group of girls ordering at the counter.
"Seth's an attractive guy, hmm?" The first boy spoke, I looked to him, a feral grin on his lips.
"He's fine, not my type, just reminds me of someone I know." I shrug.
The boys scoff at that, my mind wanders back to this morning the way Broc's eyes had flashed grey, when I'd woken, rather then the pitless black they usually were.
"Seems you've already got someone on your mind." The boy pressed, I slid my eyes to him.
"Indeed I do, a few to choose from if I'm honest." My tone mocking and cocky, causing his eyes to spark.
"Well my lady, I 'Ian' would like to also be taken into account as a suitor, something must be wanting to have so many interes†ed." He chuckled the group following suit, I snorted and that's when I smelt it, I blinked.
"Beta Ian, Gamma Jake, Omega Heath and Ben and.." I sniffed again, as Seth returned a lazy grin on his lips.
"Alpha Seth of the Bristled Spine Pack." Seth stiffened, they all sat still and wary.
I stood, smiling at Seth, I scooted from the table taking my meal, I thanked him.
"I apologise but it would be improper for me to remain with you all as an unmated Alpha." I smiled, they all seemed to nod, as if they hadn't realised my position, I could feel their gaze on me as I left the shop and walked to the park opposite, to eat my meal.
Broc POV.
I looked at the clock, It was almost 4pm, Ivy had been gone a few hours now, I knew she needed time and could look after herself and yet.
I needed to do something to peel my mind off her absence, so I decided to head into town and grab something nice for Ivy for dinner, I hated to admit it but I was willing to change my habits for her, and I didn't know how that sat with me yet.
Sighing, I grabbed a coat, my wallet and car keys, I walked outside to the waiting 4wd, I slid into the drivers seat, glowing the engine before starting her up and pulling out of the yard and down the winding dirt track in the direction of town.
It had taken a little under an hour as I pulled up in town, I locked the car, striding past the take away, I lazily looked inside and stopped when I noticed Alpha Seth staring back, narrowing my gaze he seemed to point behind me.
I followed his direction to find Ivy climbing into a rusty pick up, my possessive side boiled up, a growl rippling from my throat caused the driver to turn in my direction, upon seeing me, he put two and two together.
Saying something to Ivy, she looked to where I stood, she smiled and nodded to the man, exiting the vehicle she crossed the street to me, only pausing to wave off the driver, he smiled and left.
My heart began hammering as her gaze landed on her walking towards me, I frowned, was this attraction or could this be what it felt like to recognise my Mate, the idea of the latter excited me.
Ivy stood before me smiling up, my heart skipped, whatever the reason, I never wanted to lose the feeling.
Garrett POV
I'd barely slept last night, I'd been in a mood because of it all morning, only improved by the memories of last nights events.
Sitting with Mitch at the servo, I wanted for our meals to arrived, I stared into my coffee, for a moment I thought I could almost smell a hint of vanilla and carmel, my head snapped up, but it wasn't Ivy that entered but Florain.
She read my disappointment, nodding her head in apology, I felt my expression fall, it was then I noticed Ivy's jumper on her arm.
At least I wasn't crazy, I had smelt her scent it just wasn't on her, but left on her clothing.
Florain sat, with a look Mitch stood and went outside, I frowned watching as Florain's eyes flittered nervously around the service station, before coming back to setle on me.
I held my breath as she spoke.
"I shouldn't be here but you need to know." She whispered, I frowned watching her, as she added the only words that would bring back a ray of hope.
"Ivy's not dead, Or at least she isn't anymore and will never be again, but theres a catch." She whispered, my jaw fell slack, as I fell limp against the chairs back.
All I needed was a ray of hope, and here and now, Florain gives me the whole sun.
