Goddess Choosen: Toby and Rita

(Toby's P.O.V.) Toby's life had become way busier. It was all his best friend's fault. Gabriel had proposed to Sabrina. She had happily accepted. Toby had not even had a chance to go running since. Scotus, his wolf, was moody lately. Gabriel wanted to talk to him. Running would have to wait. Toby headed toward Gabriel's room with a pretty good idea why they had to talk. As Toby reached Gabriel's room, he raised his hand to knock. Gabriel open the door and pulled him into the room before he could even make contact with the door. Once in the room, Gabriel closed the door. "Hey, your an engaged man. I'm going to tell Sabrina you're getting handsy." Toby joked as he straightened his shirt. Gabriel took a deep breath. Toby could tell his friend was counting internally, trying to reign in his nerves. "Toby, I'm going to be completely honest with you. Will you be my Best Man? I'm worried about Sabrina, the wedding, and my mother all already asking me questions about people, place settings, cake, food, dj or band, flowers and tuxes. I don't know what I'm doing or choosing. I need your help man.", Gabriel said in one breath rather hurried, as he smiled like he was the happiest man in the world. "I knew you were going to ask. Yeah, man. What do you need me to do?" Toby asked. He was honestly happy for his best friend and Sabrina. Lifemates... What that must feel like? Standing there together smiling. Gabriel's face became serious. "This week, the elders are coming for the trial. We will have to prepare. I don't want anything to stress Sabrina. We will make wedding preparations. Hopefully, we can distract her with the wedding plans. My mom said it might help her get through everything." Gabriel sighed. Toby knew his friend had it bad for Sabrina. "What's first on this wedding plan?", Toby asked as he put his hand on Gabriel's shoulder. "A maid of honor. Red, I think is what Sabrina called her. She's coming in tomorrow from Arizona, the same day the Elders arrive. I would really appreciated it if you could go with Sabrina to pick her up.", Gabriel said putting his hands together. "Maid of honor, wedding plans, tuxes. I am with you for it all my friend.", Toby assured Gabriel. "Good. I'm serious about the maid of honor though. I've seen pictures." Gabriel said as he wiggled his eyebrows. Toby just rolled his eyes at his best friend. Toby had no interest in casually dating different women. They weren't his mate. They tend to get possessive. He didn't want anything to get in his way when it came to the woman the Goddess had chosen for him. "I'll keep that in mind.", Toby said sarcastically as he moved toward the door. "Thanks man. I owe you.", Gabriel laughed. Toby left in search of Sabrina. She was in Sasha's office. He knocked at the door. "It's open.", Sasha announced before he entered. On the coffee table was magazines, swatches of fabric, and lists. Wedding planning was already well on it's way. "Hello Toby, what are you doing here?", Sasha asked as she hugged him. "I am here to start my official duties as Best Man.", Toby announced with a big grin. "There is a list for you somewhere.", Sabrina said as she started to shuffle through the papers and things on the coffee table. Sasha grab a pile next her, shuffling through it to help. "Here we are.", Sasha said as she handed over the list to Toby. He looked it over. Most of it looked simple enough, Sasha and Sabrina had even put dates and times next to the things that need to be done. "I'll handle it. Tomorrow, what time does your friend's plane arrive?" Toby asked. "Red will be arriving around 1pm but I want to get there about a half hour before. That way we can be there with plenty of time to spare.", Sabrina said clearly excited to have her friend arriving. "Okay. I'm going to go and leave the rest of this in your capable hands.", Toby said as he walked out the door. Toby went in search of his father, Tyler. With the Elders arrival, the house was busy preparing for their arrival. Tyler was out in the training ground when Toby found him. "Toby, maybe you could show some of these pups how to keep your guard up?", Tyler said as he easily slipped his opponents grasp and flipped him onto his back. "Pass. I have Best Man duties to do.", Toby told his father as he walked over. Tyler clapped him on the shoulder smiling. "Best Man, huh? Maybe soon you find your mate, well be having many more pups to train.", Tyler said smiling. Toby had a very supportive and loving relationship with his father. Ever since his mother had died in a rouge attack when he was 7, Tyler had tried his best to be both mother and father to Toby. Even through his own grief, he had made sure Toby had everything he needed physically and emotionally. Sasha had been his mom's best friend and acted like a second mom to him. The entire pack his was his family. "Do you need me for anything?", Toby asked Tyler, skipping over the pups talk. While Toby did want to become a father eventually, he suspected his father was looking forward to grandchildren. "I have everything well in hand son.", Tyler said as he moved back towards the training students. Toby decided to go for a run. He walked into the woods leaving his clothes behind a tree, he shifted to Scotus. Scenting the air, Scotus took off through the woods with a howl of loneliness for his mate. Scotus, like Toby, had been waiting for his mate. He prayed to the Goddess. He had been patient, watching as others found their mate. "Not yet my time.", Scotus thought as he charged fast and deeper into the forest.
