After another few minutes, Mallory’s steps slowed even further. “Maybe Danni should pick a few resources so I can take a bit of a break. There’s no point in wearing myself out and slowing down further.”
“Another fifty-nine XP and you’ll go up a level,” Ryan said.
“It’ll have to wait. I really need a break.” Mallory rubbed at her lower back. “No wonder I was never interested in gardening.” She stopped in front of Danae and Emica, groaning as she bent to pick the three herbs. Straightening, she looked at Danae. “You can have a turn for five minutes or so to give me a break. I’m starting to slow down.”
“That will make my mother happy.” Danae handed the lantern over to Emica then hurried to where Callum and Jorgen stood, Ryan at her side.
