Ryan groaned, looking at the empty chair in the garden where he’d left Joanna. He’d only been distracted for a moment—a moment long enough for her to disappear. Alex had given him one job, and it was a job he apparently sucked at. Quickly scanning the palace and surrounds confirmed what he’d dreaded: she hadn’t just moved to another part of the gardens here at the palace. She was gone.
