Long Shot
Jess paced in her little dream cell in her mind, if Amelia had been correct and that was where she’d stashed her. She knew it didn’t help at all but it gave her something to do. She didn’t have long to wait, or at least it didn’t seem to. It was hard for her to tell the time in the cell where her body was chained up, let alone the one here in her mind.
Kevin came to gloat and dose her with the poisons. Thankfully Kevin seemed to take her withdrawal as a sign that she was right on the edge and about to break down. Jess could almost feel sorry for the man, he was correct but not in the way he hoped.
