Alex appeared back in his own rooms still languid after his encounter with Amelia. Thinking of her caused equal bursts of guilt and a desire to see her again. If he hadn’t been thinking so much about Amelia, he probably would have noticed a hell of a lot sooner that Kyle was sitting on the couch waiting for him. As it was, when he did notice, he had the distinct feeling he looked as guilty as he felt. He went to take off his cloak only to have Kyle stand, stopping him with his hand on his shoulder.
