18 Bindings Brian felt the power pulse through him again. He didn’t even scream anymore. It was an eternal torment. Knowing where you began, who you were, and being able to differentiate between yourself and another person should be such a basic thing. Images of people he’d killed flashed in his mind. There were times he recognised, where he revelled in the kill, the pain he could inflict on others. Other times, like now, brief times, he knew what he’d done and was consumed by guilt. There was one death that flashed into his mind, and he grasped it, always holding onto the familiar face. Regardless of the pain that welled in him at her death, he knew he’d been responsible for it.
