To have an uneventful journey,orweek, or month is to be celebrated in our line of work. So ajourneyin hyperspace with no surprises is nothing to complain about. But it can get a bit dull. I had won any number of World Series –or at least I was on the winning team – and a few major golftournaments and also was driving Astrid up the wall by the time theadmiral announced the ship was ready to exit hyperspace. “About time,” Astrid said. “Anotherweek and we might have gotten a divorce.” I stood before the admiral, who wasseated in his command chair on the brig of the ship.
