Myra’s point of view.

“Results are out,” I said and Nitya looked at me with wide eyes. “But they will be coming tomorrow, right? How can they prepone it without any prior notice? " I asked. My hands were shivering due to the nervousness.

Medstar Hospital is the dream hospital for me, Rahul and Nitya. It is one of the best hospitals in India with numerous branches all around the country.

In the last year of our MS, we had already decided to do our internship in India at Medstar Hospital, Delhi.

We applied for the internship two months before and were waiting for the results. Now the list is out a day before.

I opened my email box on the phone and saw a notification from the hospital's official email ID. I pray to god before opening the email. There will be only two things either sorry or congratulations.

Finally, I made it. I made it to the Cardiology department of the hospital. I looked at Nitya and saw her reading the email on her phone.

She got up from her place with an emotionless face and came towards me. It looked like it was 'sorry' in her email.

I got up from my seat and was about to hug her to console her but she hugged me tightly first or you can say practically jumped on me. “ I got selected. We are going to work there together.” She almost screamed.

I looked around and everyone in the cafe was looking at us. “Everyone here is looking at us.” I patted her back. She left me and looked around. "Damn, I almost forgot that we are in public." She said while sitting in her place.

A drama queen!!

“ I got into the Cardiology Department. Yours?” I asked. "Paediatric." She answered. She got her desired department. "Congratulations to both of you. You both got your desired department. I am so happy for you."

Swati congratulates us. Swati is an MBA. Right now working for a well-known company across the globe.

"Thank you so much, babe." We both replied in unison. A plain thank you is not gonna work. I need both of you to pay the bills right now and a party afterwards." She demanded.

"Your wish will be fulfilled very soon, our child," Nitya said dramatically and the three of us laughed.

"Okay then let's hit the club tomorrow and Swati I don't want any excuses. I know you don't like to go to clubs. But babe believe me we will have lots of fun and we will not leave you alone." Nitya said leaving no room for Swati to argue.

Swati always tries to escape club going plans due to her introverted nature. She opened her mouth to say something but Nitya cut her off, "Please for us." She gave her the best puppy eyes.

Swati nodded and Nitya gave her a thumbs up."That's my girl. Then let's confirm the plan with Rahul, Vinay, Monika and Karan. We haven't met these creatures for a long time. I will message the venue and time in our messaging group." Nitya said and we both nodded our heads in agreement. We chatted for an hour more and left for our respective homes.

It was already past eight when I reached home. "Mom, I am home," I announced and jumped on the sofa in the hall after removing my shoes.

" How was your day?" Mom asked, sitting beside me. "She was a great mom. You know I got selected for the internship in Medstar Hospital, joining my dream place after two days." I told her and she gave a big beautiful smile. " I am proud of you, my child". She is the one who always supported me in my decisions.

Dad always wanted me to study business as I am the only child. He wanted me to work for our company and later become the MD. But I was never interested in studying business. It was not my cup of tea.

When I decided to pursue medicine, Dad opposed my decision but mom supported me and purse dad to send me to a Medical college.

Just because of her I was able to accomplish my dream successfully. I knew I was being selfish. After dad, no one will be there to look after the company and it will be going into the hands of his brother. But I know that I will never be able to manage a company.

“Myra, Your dad came back. Let’s have dinner together”. Mom informed me. Dad was on a business trip in France. I nodded.

I can’t wait to tell him this good news. I ran towards my room and got changed into comfy nightclothes. I came to the dining table where data was already sitting with mom.

I got seated in my place and mom gave me a plate full of yummy food. “I heard that you got selected for the internship in Medstar,” Dad said and I looked at Mom.

Why mom?

“I want to break this news to dad.” I pouted. “Congratulations, my beautiful child.” Dad congratulated me with a smile. He was looking so exhausted, maybe because of the workload. “Thank you, Dad,” I replied to him with a smile. “

I want you to become the best Doctor.” He said and I nodded with enthusiasm. But I hope you didn’t forget what you promised me before leaving for the US.”

“Of course not dad!” I replied, sipping hot soup. “I want you to marry my friend's son.” He said, the words came out as an order. Before the reply came out of my mouth, he announced.

“It's in a week!”
