THE ALPHA'S CURSED MATE

Seven years ago, Lyra was exiled, brutally rejected by her soulmate, Alpha Alexander. He called her "weak," a "threat," and shattered their mate bond in front of his entire Moonlit Clan... Now, Lyra is back... She returns not as the fragile Omega he discarded, but as a dangerous, silver-tattooed woman wielding a primordial power—the Whisper of the Moon... Her sole purpose is revenge against the ruthless man who took everything... He broke her. Now, she will break his entire world.

CHAPTER 1: The Scars of Exile
The sky was the color of a seven-year-old wound: bruised violet and heavy with the promise of rain that never fell. Lyra stood at the forgotten border of the Moonlit Clan territory. This was the same cursed ground she had fled, barefoot and bleeding, years ago. Tonight, she was cloaked in a tailor-made, midnight-green fur coat that embraced the new, lethal curves of her body, and calf-high leather boots that barely sank into the frozen, familiar earth. She was no longer the naive eighteen-year-old Omega. The faint, serpentine scar of a silver chain tattoo tracing her clavicle was the only visible sign of the dark power she had acquired in exile. “Seven years,” she whispered to the wind, her voice a razor-sharp whisper. “Seven years to extinguish the flames of my love and feed the fire of my hate. The debt is due, Alexander.” The grand hall of the village, once her cherished home, now felt like a gilded tomb. Hundreds of wolves were gathered for the annual Solstice meeting. Lyra pushed open the massive oak doors herself; the resulting silence was so profound it felt like a physical blow, sucking the air from the room. All eyes turned to her—eyes filled with confusion, then disbelief, and finally, outright terror. In the center of the room, on a throne carved from obsidian and bone, sat the man whose gaze could still, infuriatingly, make her breath hitch. Alpha Alexander. He looked older, weighted down by a heavy crown and heavier burdens. His chiseled jawline was harder than she remembered, his movements restricted, but his authority remained absolute. Their eyes met, a violent collision spanning the seven years of their separation. Lyra felt the ghost of their broken mate bond flicker—a phantom limb aching with the memory of a love murdered in cold blood. Alexander’s face was a mask of furious control, but the almost imperceptible tremor in his hand betrayed the shocking pain of seeing her alive. "You," Alexander growled, his voice a commanding, earth-shaking rumble. "You dare step foot on my soil, Rejected?" Lyra’s lips curled into a slow, mocking smile—a smile that tasted like blood. “Yes, Alpha. I’m back. And I didn't come to beg for forgiveness. I came to take everything you took from me." The silver chain tattoo across her chest pulsed with an icy blue light. A low, vibrating hum began to fill the hall, and every wolf—even the formidable Alexander—felt an immediate, agonizing urge to kneel. Lyra’s raw, untamed power was demanding submission. Alexander’s hands clenched the arms of his throne until his knuckles went white, fighting the ancient compulsion that threatened to bring the King of Alphas to his knees before his discarded mate. "A Moon Whisper," an ancient Omega gasped, her voice trembling with reverence and fear. "She is a curse! The Lanter's Mate has returned!" Alexander tore himself free of the paralyzing power, descending from the dais with the lethal grace of a predator who had just been wounded. He stalked towards her, his golden eyes blazing with a mixture of rage and a dangerous, desperate desire. "I don't care what dark sorcery you found in the wild, Lyra," Alexander spat, his breath hot and ragged against her ear. "I will reject you again. Or this time, I will kill you before you become a threat." Lyra stood firm. She raised her chin, meeting his fury with glacial calm. “Try me, Alexander.” The very moment the challenge left her lips, a deafening, unfamiliar howl tore through the night outside—a guttural, blood-soaked sound that shook the windows and silenced every wolf in the room. "The Shadow Claws!" a guard screamed, his voice strained with terror. "They're attacking!" Alexander’s focus instantly fractured. All traces of personal vengeance vanished, replaced by the primal instinct of the Alpha protector. Lyra was forgotten as the war trumpet sounded. His duty was to his pack. Her duty was to her hate. But tonight, they would fight the same enemy.
