“Hey, Claudius!” Leslie waved, dipping her foot in the pool and kicking water up. Claudius’s eyes followed the outline of her lean, tan legs as he held me in his arms. “Hello, Leslie.” His pale eyes flickered. He snuck a quick peek at me and caught my slight pout. I smiled back at him from behind my sunglasses, thankful that they shielded my eyes as the smile failed to reach them. Yet, I refused to display my burning jealousy simmering like the flames of Hades, remaining taciturn.
