I drummed my fingers against the smooth top of my office desk, the low rhythm reaching my ears. It was out of tune and could mostly classify as noise, but I didn't care. I had bigger things on my mind to worry about than becoming the next musical prodigy. The mere thought was more than enough to stir more emotions in me than I'd originally liked, but at this point there was no helping it.
It bugged me day and night, literally every second that passed. You could say I could be blamed for not being able to get it out of my mind. When she was away, she was always on my mind and when I had the chance, I brought her in to stay under my roof, and that was the beginning of my problem.
