“You're nothing but a worthless human, weak and puny.” Kaius spat, with rage in his voice and fury in his eyes. With each word that slipped past his lips, I wasn't sure this was the same man whose note I crumpled in my fist. “Nothing but a piece of trash that has no place next to me. You're a human, and humans have no place next to powerful beings like us.” “Kaius, stop…” I could feel my heart breaking, an immense jolt of pain spreading through my chest. “How on earth did you think I was going to make you my Luna?” Kaius raged, his voice booming in the night. “ You belong below my feet, to be trampled upon and nothing else. And with that, I reject you, Destiny Flores as my Luna.”Destiny's world comes crashing down when her long time boyfriend rejects her on his coronation day, just for being a human. She passes out, just to wake up with more news; she's pregnant with the Alpha's children. She's devastated until a sliver lining shows up, she's approached by a witch who promises to turn her into a werewolf, just so she can be with her one true love. Eager for a fresh start, she agrees to the ritual but it goes wrong when she ends up dying. Five years later, Destiny is reborn and granted a second chance by the moon goddess. She runs into an unlikely alliance and they team to bring Kaius down and get revenge on the witch who stole her children. Will she succeed? Or will the flames of her previous love water down her quest for revenge?

Chapter 1
Destiny's POV I squirmed in my seat as the ends of the makeup brush tickled my cheeks. I wanted to giggle, but even I knew the makeup artist wouldn't exactly take it lightly and I wouldn't blame her one bit. Ever since she started, I'd been restless. Why? Because it was my boyfriend's coronation today. A huge grin made its way to my lips at the thought of that. Kaius had been looking forward to this day since he was little and now, the day had finally come. And even with that, I still had more reason to celebrate. Not only was he going to take over as the new Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack, he would also be announcing me as his mate to the whole pack. Tonight. My grin grew even wider as I thought of it. I'd always known it would happen, but as I counted down to the special moment, my excitement grew. Kaius and I had been together for a while now. Forever, if I was being honest. After his mum, the Luna , had found me in the bushes on a stormy night twenty years ago, everything changed for me. I was drenched and on the verge of dying, but she saved me and took me in as her own, even though I was nothing like them. Growing up, my immediate memories were filled with growing up with members of the pack and learning of their ways. I was human, and the only one but I never for once felt alone. Everyone took me in and the members of the royal family treated me like royalty, especially Kaius. It was no surprise when we started dating, and today, we would start our beautiful journey as the new Alpha and Luna of the Crescent Moon Pack. “All done.” The make-up artist announced, pulling me out of the realm of my thoughts. “ You can look now.” Slowly, I spun my chair to face the mirror, just to get almost knocked out of my seat. If I hadn't sat through the entire process, I wouldn't believe I was the same person in the mirror. My blonde hair flowed behind me, a low fringe covering my forehead. Dazzling accessories lined my neck and ears, making the low neckline of my white dress stand out. I ran my tongue over my ruby red lips as I got up, excitement thrumming in my veins. I looked like a goddess and I knew Kaius would be proud. “Ma'am.” Three knocks at the door had me turning my gaze in that direction. “ The coronation is about to start.” “Of course.” I beamed at the maid just at the door. At this point, there was no use masking my excitement. It was next to impossible. “ And Kaius?” “He's waiting patiently for you ma'am.” She nodded. “ And he asked me to give you this.” Like a little girl, I plucked the small piece of paper from her before making my way out of the room. As gracefully as I could in my heels, I took the stairs two at a time as I headed to the coronation venue. Crescent Moon Pack was developed, although a bit shut out from the rest of the world, but whenever they had important events, it always took place on the bank of the river that separated the pack from others. It was a century old tradition and it was believed to strengthen the rule of every alpha sworn in by the river. The loud din of music reached my ears as I neared the river. I could basically make out the excited dances of the people. Flaming torches and string lights lit up the place. The stars in the night sky twinkled, as the moon cast its warm glow on the earth. It didn't take long for me to find my designated seat. From here, I could make out a raised platform with three high chairs, one for each royal. To the side was an even higher stage. There, Kaius would be crowned the new Alpha. A smile made its way to my lips as I unfurled the piece of paper I'd gotten from the maid. “Can't wait to see you, my princess.” I read Kaius's note. “ I'm sure you look breathtaking.” As if on cue, I raised my head just in time to see the royals take their seats. My heart fluttered as Kaius and I locked gazes. Like my heart hadn't suffered enough, he threw me a wink which had me giggling like a five year old. “ Welcome members of our beloved pack.” An elder’s voice boomed all around. They superseded the affairs concerning the coronation. “ It is time to mark yet the beginning of another milestone in the history of our beloved pack.” “Today, we crown our very own, Kaius, the new Alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack.” Loud cheers erupted as the man of the hour stood up, before walking towards the elder. Broad shoulders that matched his physique, was the Kaius I knew and was in love with. Brown hair matted his forehead as he stared at the crowd. His blue eyes twinkled with pride which matched his black ensemble. “ Do you, Kaius, agree to shoulder the responsibility of being the new Alpha?” The elder continued the moment the cheers had died down. “ Do you agree to be the best Alpha, even better than your predecessors?” “ I accept.” Even louder rounds of cheers erupted into the night sky at Kaius’s words. “ But there's one thing first.” This was it. It was finally time. “Destiny?” My heart thumped with excitement as I slowly got up. Silence swarmed around me as a billion pairs of eyes flew to my direction immediately. With each step I took towards the platform, I felt my heart race. The sight of Kaius's face was a relief when I finally stopped in front of him. I smiled, a short and cute one, one he didn't return. *What?* “Before I take on this huge responsibility.” There was something about Kaius’s voice that just didn't sit well with me. “ I, Kaius Stones, reject you as my mate and Luna.” *Wait, what?* “What?” My face paled immediately. “ What's this supposed…” “You're nothing but a worthless human, weak and puny.” Kaius spat, with rage in his voice and fury in his eyes. With each word that slipped past his lips, I wasn't sure this was the same man who's note I crumpled in my fist. “ Nothing but a piece of trash that has no place next to me. And with that, I reject you, Destiny Flores as my Luna.” “Noo!” I screamed as I sank to my knees immediately. As I fell to the ground, I felt my heart shatter into a million pieces. My head buzzed as Kaius’s words sank deeper into my skull. What did he mean? This wasn't a part of the plan. I was supposed to be his Luna. We were destined to be together. “Kaius, you can't do this to me!” Tears blurred my vision as I cried all the more. Knots and knots tightened in my stomach as the stabbing pain in my chest spread. I gulped as my throat tightened, making it hard to form any more words. The world around me whirled and I wanted nothing more than for the moon goddess to strike me dead. I would take anything, anything than this searing pain that had a chokehold on my heart. I guess the moon goddess must have heard my prayer, because all it took was an immeasurable amount of pain for me to succumb to the cold hands of unconsciousness.
