Kaius’ POV Pacing wasn't going to help me. I knew this because I'd tried it a couple of times. It was like a little experiment, and every time, I got the same answer. Pacing never worked. But did it stop me from doing it? Not one bit. Instead, the more agitated and anxious I was, the more I paced around. Fuck. The sound of the soles of my shoes kissing the cold tiles reached my ears. It wasn't particularly loud, but I could hear them, alongside the rapid thumping of my heart in my chest. Why was I this anxious again? I had no idea, or perhaps more specifically, I was trying not to think about it. And the more I tried to do that, the more my stomach churned with uncertainty.
