Lexi's POV
The sound of rustling leaves, my feet against crunching dry leaves, owls hooting, and the cool gust of wind whooshing past me which made my body icy cold, almost frozen as I ran from the pack house was the only sound I could hear around me in the looming darkness reminding me all over again that If I chose to do this, I would be all alone. But, I didn't care. I had been all alone almost all my life, it just took what happened today for me to fully realize it. I'm sure no one would look for me anyway. That was even if they realized that I was gone. After the incident earlier, I realized I wouldn't be able to bear living in that pack anymore. So I ran, despite my lungs burning and my aching legs.
