"Don't say that. It's fine if you don't want to see a movie with me. How about..."
"I don't know what you think this is, this thing between us but it's never going to work. Nothing can ever happen between us," he cut me off firmly. My smile faltered.
"Why? Why can nothing happen between us? It already did when we were kids so what's the difference now?" I asked.
"That's just your misconception. Nothing happened between us when we were kids. We were just friends and we will cease to be if you keep acting like this," he threatened.
"How am I acting like? You were the one who kissed me first, remember? Why are you acting like nothing happened?" I inquired. I've noticed the sudden closeness between him and Lexi. It wasn't there before but I was certain it was now.
