Get Back On Track
Tyran “I love you baby girl, so much...” My dad said as he sat across from me. “Daddy I just miss you so much I need you right now” I said crying . He smiled “I know you need me Ty and I’m always with you and I’ll always love you”. He said before getting up . “Daddy where are you going”? I said trying to get up, but it was like I was strap down to my seat. “I have to go remember sing because you love it not because you have to” something he always said to me and then he turns the corner in our old house and vanishes . My eyes slowly open and I hear my mother saying “can’t believe you had another party here Tyran”. I sigh and rubbed my eyes the alcohol I drank last night definitely gave me a hangover from hell. “I thought you said you were done with this s**t”?! She said point to the two lines of cocaine on my coffee table. I sat up and blew off before saying “why are you here”? My mom replied “haven’t heard from you in three days, so I called Zell and he told me when he last saw you , you were planning some party”. Zell was my body guard and definitely always snitched on me to my mom thats why she kept him around. “Come on Ty you’re twenty one you need to start taking better care of yourself the public already sees you as a drugged up child star who hasn’t had a hit in three years, and the label the meeting you missed this morning yea they are talking about dropping you off you don’t make some changes”. I stood up and stretched stumbling a little behind that I was still intoxicated “ma they can do whatever music just don’t flow like it use to okay not since...” My mom swung the curtains back and the sunlight blinded me you would think the sun was coming at me with full force, and she said loudly “no no no you will not use your father as a excuse he’s been gone three years now and if he knew half the s**t you’re doing right now he’d be so upset”! I crossed my arms and said “you don’t get to tell me how to grieve this is coming from a women who waited all of four month before getting remarried to some lame ass doctor who was suppose to make sure my father didn’t die”! It was like my mother flew across the room at me and slapped the s**t out of me . “You will respect Frank . He did everything he could for your father and you will not question me about anything. Grieve girl I was his wife I watched my husband die before my eyes . I grieve the whole eight months I loved your father I still do, but I couldn’t stop my life because it’s not what he would’ve wanted he would’ve wanted me happy and Frank that man makes me happy”! Touching the side of my face because the pain was quick I looked her in the eyes “and he was my dad something Frank will never be . You got your happiness back I didn’t I will never get another father like the one I had and that’s something you just don’t seem to understand”. I walked away saying “I’m going to shower when you leave lock up”. She yelled back “I’m still your manager and tonight you have a studio session with rapper Lil Money at ten please don’t mess this up this is your last chance to make things right in this entertainment world Ty”! I waved her off as I went up the steps . To say she was my mother our relationship was never a mother daughter relationship after I got signed . Once we signed them papers she became a momanger instead of a mom. My dad would always tell her about herself and when he died of cancer there was no one on my side. When she got remarried to stupid ass Frank it didn’t make our relationship better. I didn’t even go to their wedding because I felt like she was only thinking about herself like how could she marry so quickly to someone who didn’t save her husband? After showering and getting dress I went downstairs and attempted to eat something . As I sat at my table alone eating some oatmeal I received some notifications. Clicking on it , it took me straight to i********: where Lil Money had tagged me in a post . Caption read “I can’t wait to get beautiful Tyran on this track”. Checking the comments there were a few fans with positive things to say and then their were the negative. For example one said “why would you want that drugged up b***h on your song bruh . Call Beyoncé or something” . And then another said “she can sing and all but the girl is troubled and washed up . From the media all the alcohol and drugs hell can she even still sing”? I grinned at the comments even though they hurt like hell. I exited out and went to my email he had sent the beat over, so I started thinking and jotting down lyrics right there. s**t there was nothing washed up about me nothing . That night when I got to the studio I was hype because I had gotten there on time. He wasn’t so since it was just me and the engineer I made listen to me warm up and give me critiques. I was in the booth signing Deborah Cox “nobody suppose to be here” . I was close to the ending when he walked in with a few guys. I stopped and waved for the engineer to stop the music. He walked up to the mic and said “damn girl see I knew choosing you was right come out so we can talk right quick”. I don’t know why but I was getting nerve as I got to the door. Once outside the booth he patted for me to sit next to him and then he just stared at me. This was indeed a fine ass man. Medium brown skin , light hazel eyes , fat pink juicy lips and a jawline so aligned you’d think God took extra time on just that area. He wasn’t built but he had a little muscle could probably definitely hold his own so that’s a good thing right? . As he stared at me he cracked a smile “alright then shall we get to work”? Confused on the stared down I snapped out of my own thoughts and said “yea okay. As I opened my notebook he replied “oh s**t there is another notebook lyricist other than me what’s all that extra s**t hanging out” he said pulling on one of the folded sheets of paper. “Songs , songs I haven’t put out” I answered . His mouth dropped “damn girl you haven’t dropped in three years and you got all this why you holding out”? I grabbed the paper back from him and said “who’s starting first” completely changing the subject. He picked up on me not wanting to talk about it and said “uh... it’s all you . I laid my verses down already I just need your verse and you around the hook and then we good”. I gotta up and said “okay well I’ll like to start with the verse first if you got mind” Lil Money chuckled and said “its whatever baby girl do you”. He was definitely to cocky for his own good . Definitely heard about his ass the ladies man, he stayed in the news along with me about some new female he was seen with. He too had his problems I think he had a ex that was bad mouthing him last time I checked . Lil Money was unsigned was dropped from a label because of his ex accusations and was doing the independent thing and I guess this project with me was going to help him just like me. Can’t believe my mom agree to putting me on a song with a rapper a female claim beats women. I guess she was desperate my mom did a lot of desperate s**t and it involved me ten out of ten times.
