Ultra Instincts

Kenny walked in with a determined look on his face. He kept up his pace, walking straight to Chuma, Ada, Alex and Idris, where they gathered. "Hey, Love!", Tanna shouted, running towards him. "Hi", Kenny forced a smile. "Good morning", Tanna moved closer and kissed him on his lips. Kenny's eyes opened wide. "So what are you up to, now?" "I am going on a road trip", he replied. "With Idris". "Uhn?!", Idris exclaimed. "Wait! I think he's got a plan", Chuma said. "Ok, good luck... dear", Tanna said and walked away. They stood up and moved closer to Kenny. "You are up to something, are you?", Ada asked. "I just got this feeling", Kenny replied. "If you all stay this close, there must be a reason for Idris' absence in your dreams. Instead of thinking of the negatives, let's create a positive reason". "That still sounds weird", Alex commented. "What if the dream doesn't happen soon? He'll have to live by himself, out there, all alone" "That makes sense", Ada added. "Well, I just got the feeling that I have to get him out of here", Kenny replied. "I will get him to a good place and supply his needs, regularly." They all turned and looked at Idris. His eyes and mouth were opened wide, as he imagined what it would be like to live alone. "Don't freak out", Alex said. "I'm definitely freaking out", he replied. "Wait! What are you guys talking about? I was not part of your dreams, how does that affect reality!". "Soldier's orders, Idris", Kenny said, sternly. "Come with me". They stood there and watched Kenny and Idris walking to the gates. "I'm scared", Ada said. "What's going to happen next?" "I don't know", Chuma said. "I believe in Kenny. He has a plan". Kenny and Idris saw Akeem as they walked out, through the gates. "so this is him, now", Idris whispered to himself. That was probably the first time he actually looked at Akeem. "Hey, Akeem!", Kenny called. "we have to get somewhere.... Get ready". He took Idris with him and they walked to the rooms where the civilian clothes are kept. The workers sat there, watching as Kenny packed some clothes in a bag. "Y'all good?" After a few seconds of hesitation, "yes", many of them chorused. "Good", Kenny replied. "Pray to your various gods. They might come to your aid". He gave the bag to Idris and they walked out. Akeem joined them and got into a car. Seeing the two soldiers, Uthman gave them the key without it questions. ★★★ ★★★ ★★★ "Hello, human!", Joe turned sharply as he heard a strange voice behind him. He could only see a figure, like a projection of light. It had the shape of a human. More like a shadow with light, instead of the usual dark reflection. "Who's there? who are you? what do you want?", Joe asked quickly. His instincts were not working at the moment. "I am you... your Chi", he got a reply. The Chi is an Igbó word for spirit. "I am also a congregation of Dibias who have crossed the bar.... They seek to warn you of the journey ahead". "How much do you know?", Joe asked. "How much can you tell me?" "I only know a little... and I will tell you all. Your journey will lead to a war" "A war's already going on. what could be worse than the war that ends the world?", Joe replied. • "A war that must happen to prevent another war from ending the world. Come with me". As Joe looked ahead, the leaves and flowers in front of him parted and formed a road. Joe followed the path and kept walking. "Toby? you still there?" "sure", Toby whispered back. "Just waiting for this to end." "Look!", the voice startled Joe who had concentrated on Toby's voice. Joe could see a highly ranked soldier in his office. "Who's that?" "The president" "I have to kill him? or what? how do I make this stop?" "Watch what happens next". Joe kept looking. The soldier stood up from the seat and walked into another room. In the room, there were civilian girls who Joe perceived to have been prostitutes before the enslavement. The expressions on their faces showed that they were not enjoying their job at that moment; they had become s*x slaves. Immediately the soldier entered the room, he seemed to have jammed into a white smoke which disappeared within a second. It was so fast that anyone would hardly notice. The soldier turned back, immediately, like he just got an idea. He picked up his phone, dialled a number and placed the phone on his ear. "Call every camp... I want all the civilians dead before noon". He dropped the phone and sat, like a robot. "what?!", Joe exclaimed. "That doesn't even make sense-" The images changed before him. He could see Ada and some other civilians on the ground, wailing. Some soldiers were approaching. Ada took a gun and shot a soldier. Immediately, the soldiers retaliated and shot Ada. The other girls were already dead. "Don't think of rushing at it. it's just a vision", the voice told him. "It's not happening or it's not happened yet?" "It's not happened, yet. You may have to start the war before the war visits you" "I... there was something. I mean, something happened when the soldier entered the other room" "Yes.... it shows there's more to the war with the soldiers. We may be fighting against a greater force". "If you are able to know so much, why can't you tell me all? it's sickening." "Because I only know as much as you know" "What do you mean?" "I am your ultra instincts.... Your nigh omniscience" ★★★ ★★★ ★★★ "Hmm, it's sweet", Chuma commented on the food, licking the plate. "Yeah", Alex supported. "Has any of you ever tried to get more food?" "Yea", Don, who sat beside them with Kaly and his other friends, replied. "One of us asked for more... and he died. They put a bullet in his head" "What the -!?!", they exclaimed and burst into laughter. "You're joking, right?" "yea... No one's stupid enough to ask for more" They all laughed for a while. All of them focused on their food, avoiding the thoughts of their impending doom. "What's going to happen to Idris, now?", Kalu asked, after they had settled. "I trust Kenny", Chuma replied. "He's going to get him a life and return to help us". "Well, let's hope we see him again", Alex added. "The humor here has gone with him. Seeing him alone was funny". "Yea, that's an insult" Ada finally spoke. "We better keep the hopes aside.... or else you'll stress your heart or whatever you use to think"
