Aramis slammed her palm against the table and shot to her feet.
Alanna didn’t so much as flinch.
“I understand this is difficult for you to hear,” she said calmly, “but my words come directly from the Moon Goddess—”
“I don’t believe you!”
“Aramis, that’s enough!”
Evander’s voice cracked through the room like thunder. Fury blazed in his eyes.
“Let the Priestess speak!”
Aramis stared at him in disbelief.
“Evander... do you hear what she’s saying? She’s talking about our daughter—”
“Every prophecy she has given has come true, Aramis. Would you call her a liar if she were speaking about another she-wolf’s cub?”
