"Mr. David, it seems like we haven't finished work yet," Olivia said sarcastically, her words filled with jealousy.
Upon hearing Olivia's voice, David forcefully moved away from Emily. The sudden loss made Emily feel a strong sense of disappointment. She was different from her seemingly silly appearance; her heart was complex and sensitive.
Emily looked at Olivia, who was pure and beautiful, tall with a slender figure, not too big but firm breasts, and a vibrant, well-proportioned physique.
Most importantly, Emily saw strong hostility in Olivia's eyes, a deliberate smile on Olivia's lips, and... what was that red color from her lips to behind her ears, not lipstick, not jam, almost like blood.
While Emily was still observing, a strong force pushed her, almost causing her to fall. David then forcefully separated the two even more.
Before Emily could react, David had already rushed to Olivia's side. Olivia's figure was completely blocked by David's back, breaking Emily's heart.
She even thought, could this sudden woman be David's favorite, and to prevent her from feeling jealous, David pushed her away somewhat violently. But what were they doing now?
Emily didn't have the courage to go over and see; she could only watch her husband raise both arms, one on the woman's neck, the other wiping her cheek, showing an inexplicable tenderness.
Emily's eyes widened, reaching out to grab onto something, but finding nothing. She opened her mouth, wanting to shout out her frustration and confusion, but no sound came out of her throat.
"David has me, yet he has abandoned me!"
At this moment, Olivia was gently touching David's hand, coquettishly saying, "What are you doing, Mr. David? You are so close to me in front of your wife, and touching my cheek, is that appropriate?"
But soon, Olivia dared not be coquettish anymore. She felt the hand wiping her face becoming firmer, and the hand on her throat tightening like a vice.
Olivia felt like she couldn't breathe, sensing a suffocating climax, especially outdoors, in front of everyone's gaze.
David's actions were discreet; no one could see except for him and Olivia. But when Sophia saw the cold look in David's eyes, she suddenly panicked. It was an extremely angry look, filled with intense murderous intent.
Olivia was taught by David, so one could say he was Olivia's mentor. Therefore, Sophia understood David. If she continued to challenge David's bottom line, even if David wouldn't kill her, her life would not be easy.
"David, please, I was wrong," Olivia managed to squeeze out a sentence.
David's voice was cold, "She is not one of us. What are you doing? Why are you mixing work and personal life? What made you come out like this? There's blood on your face, are you trying to scare someone?"
David's tone became more severe, his grip tighter. Olivia was suffocating, seeing stars, her pupils involuntarily rolling upwards.
"David!"
Emily's shout interrupted everything. From her perspective, David was holding the woman's face, his whisper sounding more like passionately kissing the woman.
"What are you doing?" Emily shouted in jealousy, "What is the relationship between you two?! Let her go!"
"Shut up!" David scolded. They were overly exposed outside the company building, surrounded by onlookers holding up their phones, which could put him in danger. Even the company's executives would feel disgust and anger towards Emily's causing a scene, leading to action.
But all of this could be handled. The most important thing was, if these images were to be spread online, with Emily in the frame, as his wife, she would be targeted by countless enemies, putting her in danger.
David didn't know why he cared about Emily, but he knew that only by driving her away could she be safe.
"I am busy working, and you unreasonably disturbed me. You foolish woman, get out of my sight," David said frostily, "Do you want to embarrass me in front of my colleagues?"
"I..." Emily was somewhat panicked, not knowing how to respond.
David continued to reprimand, "Did you leave your brain at home? Look at how many people are watching us."
After David spoke, he looked at Olivia, "Let's go!"
"Should we just leave like this? What about your wife?" Olivia asked.
"Forget about her, I don't have time to deal with her."
David and Olivia left, and people around whistled, holding up their phones and mocking glances at Emily.
The mocking remarks pierced her ears, her hearing never so acute.
"Hahaha, this woman was publicly dumped by her husband!"
"Yeah, her husband doesn't care about her, walking away with another woman, this is open infidelity!"
"If I were her, I would have killed myself long ago!"
Emily grabbed her hair, covering her ears.
She was on the verge of a breakdown!
Why?
Why did David treat her like this?
