DANIEL'S eyes widened at the sight of the photos on his i-Pad screen. Right after he'd done scrolling, he threw the i-Pad on the coffee table in frustration. "Hey, easy man! That thing has done nothing to you, so does the table!" Henry reprimanded Daniel's furious action. Surely this man was out of his mind. His behavior suddenly changed after he met his ex-lover. So unpredictable for someone who left. "Can't you see I'm mad?" Daniel asked in fury. Henry had better watch out for his words if he doesn't want to lose one of his teeth. "I am nearsighted, not blind, bro! Of course, I know you're mad, but be rational. You're not in a position to be mad!" Henry reminded Daniel. How many times must he repeat this? "I know. I'm the one who dumped her but she doesn't even ask me why? Can't you see how she feels about me? I bet she didn't even love me back then." Daniel let out his frustration. For 5 years, he'd been living in doubt. During their 2 years together, did she ever love him? He kept asking that question again and again. "It's been years. She has already moved on. You should move on with your life." Henry advised him. "It's easy for her but not for me. How come she easily falls in love with another man when I can't even take a proper look at any other girl all these years?" Daniel leaned his body on the sofa. Hands on head. Eyes wide shut. But he didn't fall asleep. His mind traveled across time. When he first met her in college 5 years ago, Amanda was in her first year and he was a year her senior. On the day he accidentally went to his class late, he came across her. She was late too. In a hurry, they pushed the hall door at the same time and stepped into the lecture hall together. The old wooden door let out a sound loud enough to attract the whole audience. And their Management lecturer, Mr.Scott, did not let them go easily. "Here comes our Romeo and Juliet! This is what happens when you fail to manage your time efficiently. During the night when you're supposed to sleep, you go out for a date. You spent time looking at the moon and counting the stars. And in the morning you both come late to my class. You jump, I jump! You want to get drowned together?" Mr.Scott clearly misunderstood the situation. Daniel felt bad for Amanda. Because of him, she became the center of attention. But nothing he could do for her at the moment. When he just silently followed her and settled beside her, his actions attracted another attention and clearly confirmed the professor's words earlier. Rumours of them dating spread out right after that. He talked to Amanda. He said sorry but she told him she hadn't taken that thing into her heart. Starting from then, he always sat beside her in that class. He followed her around. And at the end of the semester, he asked her out for a date and she said yes with a nod. They confirmed their relationship the day after. Everything was perfect during their first year together. As a girlfriend she was sweet, nice and understanding. But later in their second year of relationship, he slowly became bored. She just agreed to anything he said or done. She never complained. Never ever got jealous! Like she was there with him but she wasn't really there. There was no excitement in their relationship. No argument! No jealousy! What kind of relationship is that? Even when he broke up with her, she easily agreed to it. She didn't even bother to ask him why? "It happened because you didn't close the chapter properly. You didn't seek closure. It's too late for you to regret it. She's already with someone. You saw their photos with your own eyes." Henry talked with concern. He can still clearly remember the blond man's words. She's my everything! He must have been deeply in love with her. Daniel straightened his body. Hands came together. His expression changed to serious. "My mum gave me three months to get married and settle down. If I fail to do that, she will force me to do an IVF. She will hire a surrogate mother for the baby. She didn't say it loud but I know she was afraid I might be gay." Daniel told Henry the truth. Indeed, he told him everything. "You didn't date anyone all these years. You are always with me. Your mum must think we are dating each other. Funny!" Henry laughed. Of course they were always together. Aside from being friends, they were business partners. While Daniel managed the company's inside matters, he would do the outside jobs. Just now he has arrived here from a suburban area. He'd been spying since yesterday. What kind of job he gave him, huh! "And she was referring to Amanda when she urged me to get married. I told her I used to date someone to make her less worried." Daniel continued. "My mum knew I was still into her." Daniel knew his mum had a solid reason to worry. For all these years, he didn't even date a single girl. He fired every female assistant who seemed to be on his way. And he spent most of his time with Henry other than working. They went to the gym together. They hit the bar sometimes. He didn't even drink a single sip. "But Amanda already has someone. They look happy together. You can't just snatch her away!" Was he going to snatch her away from the blond? No! Daniel wouldn't do that. Daniel was a decent man with morals and principles. He didn't even flirt with any girl, not to mention involved in any intimate relationship. When it came to girls, he always put them at a safe distance. "I can!" Daniel said in a stern voice. "And I will!" "Are you serious?" Henry couldn't believe this. This wasn't Daniel. Or maybe Daniel was possessed by evil spirits. "Yes!!" Daniel nodded. He was indeed serious. "I can't believe this! This is not you." Henry voiced out his thoughts loudly. "It's me talking." "This is indecent. You have never done anything indecent before." "Decent or indecent, I don't care anymore. I want her back! And I would seduce her. Let's see if she can resist my temptations." "Wow! I can see you mean your every word, but what's with the sudden change?" Henry still didn't get it. "I believe at a certain point a man has to choose what he wants to be." Desperated! Daniel had finally reached that certain point. And for Amanda, Daniel was ready to turn himself into a new person. And this new person won't take no as an answer. "THE MOST ELIGIBLE BACHELOR IN THE CITY, THE PRINCE CHARMING TURNED HIMSELF INTO A DOMINANT BAD BOY TO WIN HIS EX-LOVER BACK!" Henry said out loud. He could imagine himself reading a highlight in the gossip magazine. "You are overreacting!" Daniel rolled his eyes. He then stood up and walked to the wide glass window of his modern luxury-design penthouse. As the CEO of his own company, WDS Inc, which is involved in the property, automotive and technology industries, he owned his own assets. At the age of 28, he owned several properties around the world, a collection of luxury cars, private jets and even private islands. The elite society referred to him as the most eligible bachelor in the city as he was still single. Some addressed him as the prince charming and many of his business acquittances wanted him to become their son-in-law but he wasn't interested. Until Amanda's beautiful face appeared in front of him again. He guessed their encounters in his office yesterday had triggered a dominant side in him. He was indeed possessive of her. "Did she already accepted the Personal Assistant position?" Henry asked out of the blue. Busy spying, he'd forgotten about that. "Not yet, Henry!" Daniel answered. His eyes focused on the skyscraper buildings in front of him. "You think she will accept?" Henry's voice came into the air. "She will," Daniel answered in confidence. "If she doesn't?" "I'll make her come." "But how?" Daniel took a file from a drawer and walked back to the sofa. He sat beside Henry before handing it to him. "I'll use my secret weapon," he said. Henry opened the file and took a fast look at a document in there. "Are you serious?" Daniel nodded. "The details are on the second page. You may proceed with the following actions as soon as possible. It's already late. She might need to do some debates. "You really think she will come?" Henry wasn't sure. "Believe in me. On Monday morning, she will appear in my office." And within three months, she will be wearing his ring on her finger. His mum was already expecting her first grandchild. And he would get closure about the unanswered questions of the past.
