"Why are you staring at me like that? Are you some creepy p*****t? But you messed up with the wrong girl, dude! I am a black belt in karate, so leave my way now!" She promptly replied with a cryptic ogle towards him. "How is this possible? Why didn't my power work on her? Besides, her fragrance is provoking my beastly instincts crazily! It's too hard to resist the craving for a human organ now!" He was frowning his face while gawking at her with a devilish look in his dark eyes. "This guy looks way too creepy! I think I need to use my self-defence techniques!" She was lost in her deep thoughts while looking at his eyes. With an annoyed expression, she clenched her wrist in order to attack him instantly if he dared to harm her somehow! But her captivating smell was making Lucas lose his mind completely. Suddenly she could hear his stomach growling quite loudly. "Damn! I will devour her now! I don't care about the rest!" He thought silently with a demonic smile on his face while biting his lips cryptically. He started walking closer towards her with gallant steps. His claws started emerging from his nails as he attempted to slit her throat apart! . . In a flash of the moment, someone grabbed Lucas's shoulder from behind in order to stop him from approaching her. However, he was familiar with that sudden clasp. He turned back abruptly and grinned maliciously at the sight. Nathan was standing behind while stopping him from going towards her gallantly. He had an infuriating expression on his face while staring at Lucas intensely with his bright-red eyes. "I knew it! So, she is the one, isn't she?" He inquired Nathan with a mischievous smirk on his face. Nathan seemed very angry with this gesture and grumbled at him fiercely, "stop chasing after innocent lives, Lucas! We are not vampires! Stop taking harmless lives for your malicious desires!" He clenched his shoulder tightly, proclaiming his threat. Lucas smiled at his kinesics and slowly unleashed his grasp. "Don't avoid my question, big brother! You were so worried about her that you even came looking for her! Woah! But why are you in your invisible state? Why aren't you appearing before her?" He murmured in a low voice while glaring at Nathan. "Hey! You jerk!" Both of them flinched with the sudden call and noticed that she had an oblivious look on her face while staring intensely at Lucas. "Hey? What are you murmuring while turning back? Who are you talking to? Are you some kind of lunatic creep?" She sounded quite infuriated while walking close to him at a slow pace. Lucas turned back at Nathan once and winked with a foxy smile on his face. He abruptly put his hands inside his pockets and looked at her intimately. "Nothing much! I was just shocked to witness your ignorance, my dear duckling!" He grinned at her with an obscure resonance. She halted at his response and frowned her eyebrows. "What? Duckling? Hey! Are you crazy?" She walked closer to him and yelled ferociously while rolling her eyes in anger. Lucas seemed to enjoy her unique reaction and sneered mystically. "To be honest, you seemed like a charming lady from the outside but had a bad mouth from the inside, so I decided to call you that! I generally like to name people according to my preferences." He grinned and turned back at Nathan to observe his expression while conveying his thoughts to her. Nathan was staring at him intensely with his eye color changed to the usual black. He was consistently glancing at both of them from behind. "Who are you? And why are you pestering me so much, jerk?" She was outraged at her own frustration towards him, being unable to hold it back. Lucas again turned back again at Nathan and smiled devilishly. "I am quite surprised by your assumption about me, but..." While speaking in a hoarse voice, Lucas stared intensely at her. "I am the one who saved your life today!" He answered with a mystic smirk, leaving behind everyone startled. Sophie was stunned by his proclamation and gawked at him obscurely. "Wh-What?" She inquired. Nathan walked close to Lucas and groaned at him with agitation. "Hey, what the hell are you talking about? Don't mess with me!" He warned him with a dense resonance. "What are you talking about? Are you the one who saved me? Who are you?" She was getting impatient with his declaration and was interrogating him persistently. Lucas gasped at her inquisitively. In the shadowy moonlight, she appeared as the divine Moon Goddess, standing before him firmly. Her black shimmering hair was constantly waving with the mild night breeze which she was caressing while interrogating him. Her eyebrows frowned but her eyes looked quite profound. Somehow, her gaze looked a bit glum. As if she was deliberately trying to hide her unspeakable pain behind by acting all tough. Her compactness and stern attitude piqued Lucas's interest and, furthermore, he cryptically glanced at Nathan and brought his face closer to him. "If you are reluctant to take your credit, I will gladly have it." He whispered to him with a cunning smirk. "Well, I couldn't let you die before my own eyes helplessly. So, I decided to save your life," Lucas continued. She glared at him intensely for a moment with her fretful face, as if she was lost in some deep thoughts. After a while, she sighed heavily and turned her face away from him. "I don't' believe you. I saw the eyes of the person for a second and his eyes looked so cold... It was definitely not you. I don't know why you are stealing the credentials of the person, but this trick won't work on me." She replied to him in a firm voice. After answering him, she gallantly started walking away from him towards her home. But after moving a few steps ahead, she halted and looked around her. She was looking for someone, as if her heart perceived the presence of someone there. Nathan unknowingly smiled at her action, "she is definitely quite mystical." He thought with a small grin. "Why does it feel that someone has been watching me silently here, apart from this jerk? Why does it make my heart so restless? She thought with an anxious gaze while heading back again towards her home. Lucas was watching her from behind as she left slowly. "Sophie Reed... quite interesting," he murmured in a dark voice with a sneer. As soon as Sophie left, Nathan glared at Lucas intensely with a disgruntled expression. As if he was a bit offended by his naive gestures. "We need to talk." Nathan firmly declared while ogling at him. Lucas was quite amused to see Nathan getting hyped up about Sophie. With a foxy smirk, he nodded his head. "Go ahead," he answered. "Why were you pestering her? Why were you dragging her in between our brother's conflict? She was already disturbed enough today to even take away her own life! So why were you lying to her about saving--" "Did it affect you? Aren't you too concerned about her?" Lucas interrupted him sharply with a frivolous tone. His eyes were fixed on him while replying to him. Nathan was getting impatient with his vague response and suddenly grabbed his shoulder before interrogating him further. "Lucas, stop making me mad! Don't always get on my nerves with your stupid games." He sounded quite a menace while answering him. Lucas casually unleashed himself from his grasp and ogled at him for an instance. "I have never seen you getting hyped up for a woman, is she that special? Or are you just allured by her smell? You know I am quite possessive about my big brother." He winked at him cryptically and remarked. Suddenly, Nathan's facial expression changed into a sad smile as he was gazing at him. "Don't pretend you love me, Lucas... Deep down inside, I am well aware of your hatred towards me." He sneered poignantly at him. Lucas was startled a bit by his unexpected revelation and averted his gaze to somewhere else. He desperately wanted to avoid eye contact with him as he was caught off guard. "What an absurd assumption," he replied. Nathan stared at him for a moment and turned back with a heavy-hearted sigh. "It's not your fault though. You have gone through something so deplorable and I am also partly responsible for your miseries. No matter how malicious you try to act before the world, I know it really well- it's not your true self, Lucas. You were a kind werewolf before..." He responded to him with a glum voice and started heading back away from him. "Hey, stop staring precisely at my heart like this! I can't stand unnecessary kindness from anyone! Don't you dare show empathy towards me, Nathan!" He yelled fiercely at him from behind while watching him leave. Nathan didn't turn back and continued his motion at a slow pace. "F*ck! He is accurate enough. From deep down inside, I hate everyone in the Crescent Pack. I hate myself for being part of the ruthless pack that couldn't oppose the assassination of a helpless omega! I... I will never forgive anyone ever... And I will definitely surpass you someday, Nathan." His voice strangled with unbearable pain as he was murmuring in a husky voice. Unknowingly, tears rolled down his cheeks as he stared at the sky with a blank gaze.
